Martin O'Malley lands a new gig, this time in unlikely pairing with Jeb Bush.

'Former Democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley has landed another post-campaign position -- this time in an unlikely pairing with former Republican Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Rivada Networks, a New York-based company that is rolling out a nationwide broadband network for public safety agencies under the name FirstNet, announced that both former presidential hopefuls will join its board. The company said O'Malley, a former two-term Maryland governor, and Bush will help it "by providing strategic counsel and guidance, as well as by providing their unique insights into the challenges and needs of America's state governments." For O'Malley, the Rivada appointment is his second new gig in the past month. In early May, Washington-based MetroLab Network said he would become chairman of its advisory board. The group is focused on addressing urban challenges using innovations in technology and public policy. Meanwhile, a close friend of O'Malley floated his name recently as a potential Democratic national chairman, but that suggestion does not appear to have gained much traction.

While the liberal O'Malley and conservative Bush may not much in common politically, they do have one thing in common they can bond over during breaks in Rivada meetings: their mutual disdain for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
During his presidential campaign, O'Malley reveled in calling Trump a "carnival barker," among other unflattering descriptions.

Since Trump wrapped up the Republican nomination, Bush has refused to endorse him and is not planning to attend the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.'
