(113,131 posts)Once that fool Bremer got in there and kicked the Baathists out of government and the military and any civilian job they could control, we knew who was going to organize the uprising.
Sadly, we were right.

(57,936 posts)This is the person we need in the White House. There is no doubt in my mind. His thinking is so much clearer, his vision so much more acute and so able to see so far and so clearly, his ability to speak so succinct and understandable. This is the person we need to lead our country at this difficult time.
No other candidate, no member of our current government has the good judgment that Bernie has. I really want to see him become our next president.
I like Obama a lot. Obama has a calm way of approaching problems. But Obama made serious mistakes in picking his aides on economic and legal issues.
Bernie Sanders will be a good president to follow Obama. I believe that Bernie Sanders is electable because he is an excellent speaker and has the experience and the self-confidence that he has acquired based on his experience that will inspire confidence in the American people.
Truly, the media will dismiss or ignore or belittle Bernie Sanders at its peril. He does not fall into any simplistic category such as "socialist.' Rather he is a modest and moderate man with an excellent strategic mind. This video proves it. He would have been a good person to have in charge of the CIA. He has the patience and the understanding that intelligence work needs.
What a brilliant and prescient (it's the right word so I use it again) speech. Smarter than the rest. That's Bernie Sanders.
I am really impressed with this speech. The most impressive Bernie speech I have heard thus far.

(8,159 posts)I've lost count of how many wars we're in, the incredible destruction, not to mention the lives destroyed or ruined.
Bernie makes incredible sense and the ME would probably not be the mess it is today if anyone would have listened.
We need this kind of sanity in the White House. Otherwise I'm afraid we're headed for WW3. A war most, if not all, of humanity probably will not survive or even want to.

(625 posts)As opposed to the equivocating "lawyer-speak" we get from everybody else in the Democratic Party so they always have an "out."
Poor Hillary voted for the war and voted against the war at the same time. Kerry can't decide if he threw away his medals from Vietnam or was proud of his service. Al Gore claims to help the working man after he pushed NAFTA through a Democratic-Congress that didn't want it.
