One of the many recent attacks on Bernie is easily shown to be BS.

You may have noticed the attempt to beat up on Sanders using a recent poll that found that 42% of very conservative voters in the democratic primary would prefer Sanders to get the nomination as opposed to 27% for Clinton. I looked at the poll and found that only 19 of those polled identified themselves as very conservative. None of those 19 had a favorable opinion of Sanders and 13 had an unfavorable rating, with 6 unsure. 9 had a favorable opinion of Clinton and 9 an unfavorable opinion with 1 unsure. 8 said they would prefer Sanders to get the nomination and 5 said they would prefer Clinton to get it.

Lol, these numbers don't tell us anything.

There's been complaining that the Democratic party has been leaning to the right so much that it has attracting republicans or dino's ...but when Bernie attracts them then Bernie is some kind of covert republican. A huge WTF moment for DU.

They have a history of putting up links to right wing and dubious sources. Now they've moved on and are harping on Bernie making a speech at Liberty College. All of a sudden he's a racist and misogynist.

At least that's what I've read in DU.

Attention jurors: if an alerter claims I'm fabricating this claim, please PM me and I'll supply a link.

5. There is probably a poll with three respondents to prove that.

In a poll of 3 partying college students, 2 responded, "sure, whatever, pass the bong" when asked if Sanders is a Libertarian gun humper.

6. For me, that one has been so far the most difficult to prove to be nonsense.

It required taking some effort to dig into the poll details and figure the information out. You deserve a toast for doing so!!

Most of the attacks on him that I've seen here have been weak and obvious

13. Well, all one has to do is look at who wrote that OP to know it is a swiftboat attempt.

That's all she does lately.

I can think of three other OPs off the top of my head that were pure bullshit smears. "Not Enough, Bernie" ranks as the absolute most vile OP ever on DU. Then she tried some gun humper smear, then she learned to take her swiftboating into protected groups so she posted the one the lied about him saying racism is over, which he never claimed. All a bunch of lies. That's all you will get if you read anything that poster says about Bernie. I wonder what she was saying about HRC when she was running against Obama. Her DU BFF said some really nasty shit about her and they are always mahaloing on the same page.

I don't often venture into that group and was alarmed by what I read there.

My response won me a block. Unadulterated chickenshit, if you ask me.

The funny thing is, they're working harder to take down Sanders than the republicans are, and they're using republican tricks to do it!

12. regarding Bernie's appeal to conservatives....

what the Hillionaires don't seem to understand is that most of Bernie's positions have appeal across all political parties. Particularly issues that deal with reigning in Wall Street, making the wealthy pay their fair share, ending too big to fail, corporate money in politics. So yea, there's gonna be a few tea baggers out there who see just how corrupt our capitalist system is and they may just come out and support Bernie. Of course they think that Bernie will have to come out against abortion or something to woo these people. I don't think they can imagine having a candidate who doesn't have to morph herself into something she is not to earn a few votes. Bernie can be steadfast in his views and still get a lot of respect (and votes) for it. I wish I could find a link to that study that shows broad support for all those issues. Does anyone know about that study and where I can find it?

So, they're trying to argue that the voters that formerly preferred her over President Obama, are now refusing to vote for her again? And that's because ...?

Lol. As pointed out the whole statistical analysis is beyond dubious but that lack of awareness (or maybe honesty) in not seeing other reasons for people not wanting to vote for HRC is hilarious.

When Nixon voters started rejecting him, and to a lesser extent the Republican party, in '74-'76, was that reflective of conservative voters suddenly taking a shining to Ted Kennedy? lol

And presumably we're talking about conservative Democrats here, not conservative Republican voters. They are maybe somewhat put off by some of Sanders very progressive stances regarding spending, but they might also be put off by the flagrant appeal for donations by the HRC campaign. Given that, they then might also consider other characteristics regarding the candidates.

Very conservative Democrats would maybe prefer Vice President Biden over HRC and Sanders. But it might be helpful to any discussion on this to see what characteristics of Sanders and Clinton they dislike.
