(39,451 posts)the skeptic in my wonders if he is trying to keep our spirits up but if he is that wrong, he is on facebook, he is on twitter, he is an activist for Bernie - there will be a lot of backlash thrown at him.
That said, I'm still thinking Bernie will lose tomorrow but it might not be a total ass-kicking - and that gives me hope.

(38,315 posts)HRC media is trying to sell. But this guy is telegraphing a Bernie Blowout, which, in SC, is not something I'd even think possible. But miracles DO happen.

(370 posts)I hope these people weren't just saying they were voting for Bernie to be polite, or just end the conversation fast. If Hillary wins tomorrow by as much as the polls say she will, it will be hard to know what to think of this.

(2,397 posts)If Maddow says we're 50 points down shows she sold her soul to the devil. But yes, if people turnout to vote--especially those under 40, it will be a whole new ballgame.
But I will go with what he is saying since he was on the ground. Better from him than Maddow or MSNBC.
I hope to hear something good tomorrow so I can continue being energized--like that bunny.

(6,440 posts)...this at least offers an alternative to polls that seem almost designed to depress turnout. A glimmer of hope might bring out people who were thinking of staying home because there's no point in voting for Bernie.

(24,010 posts)...where Independents and disgruntled Republicans can vote for Bernie. (Neither one is likely to vote for Hillary.)
He was, at one point, talking to random African Americans on the street! 100% for Bernie Sanders! Wha-a-a-a-t? And high, to blowout high, Sanders numbers everywhere he went!
A relatively small sampling, true, and not "scientific." But still, wow!
I watched a report from Illinois--where Hillary's support of Rahm Emmanuel is a big issue. And I got to thinking, SC really, really is not that important. It's a low population, rural state, very conservative overall--will likely go with some nutcase Republican in November; doesn't have many electoral votes. Once Bernie gets to high population progressive states, with high numbers of delegates, and high numbers of electoral votes, and his message really starts getting around, then we can start hoping for some blowouts. But if this guy's sampling of SC opinion is typical, we may be in for a surprise tomorrow, from "unimportant little SC."
I need to warn that, last I checked (some years ago), SC had one of the most riggable vote counting systems in the country. Vote counting done with 'TRADE SECRET' code, owned by one of handful of private corporations, and with ZERO audit (comparison of ballots with electronic results)--cuz, no ballot! I don't know if it's ES&S/Diebold, the worst of the lot, but, whoever it is, it is unfortunately true that we may be getting THEIR choice, not the voters' choice.
What I'm saying is, this Bernie canvasser may be right even if the vote is big for Hillary. A private corporation (esp. if it's ES&S/Diebold, which has far rightwing connections) would certainly be interested to help Hillary and try to stop Sanders' anti-corporate, populist rebellion.
I think Bernie Sanders should have started with our privatized vote counting systems (they're all over the USA, and NONE of them have adequate audits) as Issue No. 1. (You should know also that exit polls are now ALTERED to match the electronic results, so they are no longer any kind of check on electronic vote counting. That was started in 2004, with Bush Jr.'s improbable 'win.')
Didn't mean to bring a downer to this upbeat news. Just saying: Be alert and aware! Our Corporate Rulers are NOT going to give up their power easily.
In the passionate belief that we CAN restore democracy in our country! YES WE CAN!

(58 posts)I am not sure it will pass, but at this point I don't trust a lot of the polls. We just gotta wait and see. I just want this "Firewall" bull to end, its getting truly insulting. I am not anyone's Firewall!

(12,655 posts)i saw a couple of references that she might win "by double digits" ?????? i thought that was a given! and now it might only be single digit difference?
honestly, if clinton loses this by less than 15% its bad news for her, and if bernie manages to keep it to single digits, then its proof that the firewall is GONE

(2,125 posts)My question is this: How can the polls be so different from what people in the streets are reporting? NV entrance polls had Bernie ahead and the caucuses were a hot mess to say the least. I am utterly amazed at what this young man is saying. Is the MSM trying to steal this election for Hillary? There is no way the polls and the results of these canvassers reported exist in the same reality. What gives?
Thank you so much for posting that, jillian!

It's pretty simple. The more voters we contact, the better chance we have to win.
Saturday is the South Carolina primary. Then comes Super Tuesday on March 1st. Several other key state contests happen later in March. This is a crucial time to volunteer.
Volunteer now.
Phone Banking for Bernie - should list all locations near your zip code for you to check out.

(1,021 posts)Bernie knows you win some, you lose some, and--as they say in little league--it's not win or lose, it's how you play the game. His campaign fought a good fight, and we have many more to go. No good to keep treating each primary or caucus as the make-or-break-it event.
Chin up everyone, and let the Hillary folks enjoy their victory. I won't say she earned it, but I'm sure NH was hard for them even if they won't admit it.
