It's been quite a weekend for Hillary's two top surrogates, Bill and Chelsea

First, Bill gives one of the most bizarre speeches of this cycle:

Bill Clinton tells rally in Tennessee: 'We are all mixed-race people'

Bill Clinton has risked inflaming the Democratic primary’s current debate over race, telling a rally in support of his wife in Tennessee that everyone has some African ancestry.

“Unless your ancestors, every one of you, are 100%, 100% from sub-Saharan Africa, we are all mixed-race people,” the former president told a crowd in Memphis on Friday.

Then, Chelsea says it's irresponsible to call for an end to the mass incarceration her parents helped to create and vastly expand:

Chelsea Clinton: Bernie Sanders’ plan to end mass incarceration is ‘worrying'

Speaking to a packed town hall in Cleveland, Ohio, Chelsea Clinton took the opportunity to denounce Senator Sanders’ proposed criminal justice reforms when she was asked about her mother’s “vagaries” towards African American policy.

She replied that Senator Sanders advocated the end of mass incarceration, aiming for the US to no longer be the country with the highest number of people in jail by the end of his first term in 2020 - but his plan "worried" her.

Link: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-elections/chelsea-clinton-bernie-sanders-plan-to-end-mass-incarceration-is-worrying-a6875986.html

At this point, the only larger faux pas would be for one of them to say, "I don't see color, I see people." It's almost as if a wealthy former first family who depend on big money interests for their continued existence could be out of touch with the majority of the country.

I understand the origins of man but I have a feeling if I were to claim that I was mixed race - with my glow in the dark Irish skin I'd be laughed out of the room and labeled an idiot (at best). And I'd deserve it.

stretch it to the limits Bill Clinton does (for reasons i really don't understand, does he think that really does make him the first black president or something?). No excuse for such tone deaf rhetoric (pun intended). I am so mixed that i can pass for white and I have blue eyes as well that make most people just assume I am only white and, skin is more tan than brown helping the illusion.

You have to look really hard to see the asian, black and hispanic that share my blood equally with my Irish bits.

Because I am so mixed, I don't identify with any race or hate any race, I feel our future lies in unity not differences and if we have enemies it is not their eyes or melanin that define them, it is the predatory nature of those (like the Clintons and Bushs) and others of the world that are wealthy already and yet feel entitled to take all the wealth from the rest of us until we are a third world country where there are billionaires on the hills and peasants using gutters as sewer systems that make less than a handful of change an hour, a world they are building for us even as they speak such nonsense from their insular ivory towers

I also hope to Goddess we can get those people out of jail as I know some of those non-violent drug offenders in prison and the ones I know are good people being abused by a system that profits many that invest in their poverty and incarcerated misery. I can only conclude that the Hedge fund spoiled brat and her husband fear them because they are "those" people mostly and they also stand to lose money they have obviously invested in the private prison system.

I will never get these people, they are rich as hell without a care in the world, but work so hard to harm others and jail them for profit, just because they, like me are poor under defended and easy prey for such sociopaths. Why cut our meager programs when we can barely afford to eat live inside and usually can't afford medical care as it is (even with the new Insurance profit act in place)

But my biggest question is not for them, they exhibit all the signs of sociopathy, really do think they are superior to us all, and so can never be reached or bargained with.

My biggest question is why do we still let them divide us that share this same dismal fate, by using race, sex, and in the scheme of things minor differences in our lack of wealth whether we be poor or what they now like to call the struggling middle class in order to continue to steal all the remaining wealth in this country until we reach their third world wonderland they think we deserve as "lessers" and they deserve as "our entitled betters living above the squalor on their fucking billion dollar hills"? Why

Fucking really, why?

Neither Bill nor Hillary could survive "in private life". They absolutely have to have attention. There's a classic line from Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman , concerning Willy Loman: "Attention Must Be Paid!"

Take away public attention from either Bill or Hillary and they would shrivel up and die. Their whole adult lives have been devoted to demanding public validation and attention.

None of us are making them go around giving speeches trying to get Hillary elected. That's all on her. Bill and Chelsey are pushing Hillary's talking points, and doing it willingly, so when they say stupid shit they damned well better expect to get push back. Frankly, I'm getting tired of the coded words and race baiting. Again.

For the record, I have quite a bit of Native American blood on both sides of my family, four or five different "tribes" worth, and it wouldn't surprise me to learn there was more recent AA genes in there as well. But I believe we are all one race, Homo Sapiens Sapiens, with various ethnic adaptations over time.

That's sort of family legend - I have no proof other than a childhood memory of seeing a very old photo of a classic looking American Indian man with light-colored (it was a black and white photo) eyes, identified as my great-great-grandfather. I was told his mother was full blooded Indian. Of course, I can make no claim to suffering any discrimination, since to all appearances I and known family history, I am white.

That said, how do Hillary's supporters who post in the African American group feel about Bill's statement?
His statement is so bizarre, I would say it signals some dementia.

It depends on what is, is.

Of course back in 2007, Michelle couldn't love America because she was brought up in a poor black family. And Obama associated with slum lords, extreme radicals, and his reverend hated America, because he was black and his father was from Kenya.

The frame that Hillary is most qualified/experienced is nonsense also. Any Governor has more executive experience than her.
