Help with a hobby.

Hello all,
I struggle with my attention span. My therapist told me to find a less involved hobby to start, like walking, instead of ruminating pointless, stressful thoughts all day. Any ideas? Thanks!

1. Walking sounds like a great idea!

It gets you out of doors, into nature, with a little exercise for good measure.

People that I know who walk regularly say it calms them down and gives them greater perspective on whatever is on their minds.

Plus it's great low impact exercise.

Try it!

3. If you have a smart phone, check out Map my Walk

or any of the other workout apps. Having some metrics on your walking can be helpful.

5. Zen Doodling helps me focus on something besides the chit

chat in my head. Here is a link to a Pinterest page that has a lot of them. Mind you most people's a lot more primitive than the ones here.

I was never a person who could draw. But I took a watercolor class and the teacher mentioned this book "Drawing on the right side of the brain" It is so interesting and once you can do it a little you feel kind of relaxed and tuned into the drawing only. I grab a sketch pad and just try drawing things sometimes and it always calms me down
