Left whispers to Warren: Its not too late to run

Left whispers to Warren: Its not too late to run
The Hill

Liberal activists and strategists argue Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) would be beating Hillary Clinton in the polls by now if she had opted to run for president as a champion of Wall Street reform.

At a time when nervous Democrats are eyeing 72-year-old Vice President Biden and former Vice President Al Gore who left office 15 years ago as potential alternatives, some liberals say its not too late for Warren to jump in.

I think shed be beating Hillary. Thats my opinion, said Charles Chamberlain, executive director of Democracy for America, who earlier this year worked on a campaign to draft Warren to run for president.

My members and the general public believe that its time we got some economic justice in this country. The ultra, ultra rich are running things, he said. My members and the public think its time Wall Street stops controlling Main Street and Main Street has a shot to get this country moving again.

Shelton said he would love it if Warren gave a second though to running for president.

Have you heard that Elizabeth Warren is going to change her mind? Id be real interested if she did, he said.

Im a big fan of Elizabeth Warren. I think shed do well, he added, though he declined to speculate whether shed be leading the polls now had she jumped in.

Democrats say Clinton has some trouble generating excitement....

If Warren had run for president, she would have put Clinton on her heels, liberals say.

The enthusiasm, the energy that Warren tapped into would have made her an incredibly strong contender. She obviously decided not to get in the race but theres no doubt that her agenda is exactly where the primary electorate is, said Ilya Sheyman, the executive director of MoveOn.org, which helped launch the Run Warren Run campaign.

Pathetic, I know, but I'm an eternal optimist.

Hope anyone reading this doesn't take it too seriously. Just some wishful thinking by people who are still mourning Warren's decision to not run for President of the United States in 2016. And deep down wishing, still, that she change her mind.

Take pity on us.

1. I am ready for a magical amendment

stating no electioneering, no candidates, no ads, no nada in presidential runs prior to 10 months before actual election date! Ya Ya I am dreaming! However, now that the cable channels are running nothing except presidential stuff, I am feeling finished. Will be reading books, smile.

2. Smile, read.

Good plan, I like it. I think I'll get back into trying to cook gourmet-ish foodie foods again, maybe try an indoor container garden this winter with sun lamps....work smarter at my job & join the silly company-only social media thing they've got going & start a** kissing.

Maybe protest more, like I am tomorrow with DFA at our liberal congresswoman's office. She's still on the fence, to my utter shock & dismay, regarding voting for peace through the Iran deal...

Thanks oldandhappy. Good advice. You ARE happy!! And now we know why.
