Can someone explain to me the steps needed to place links in your posts.

The DU3 software should turn any web address starting with [font color="#000088"]http://[/font] into a link. For example, putting this text into a post...

[div style="margin-left:1em; color:#000088;"]http://www.google.com
... should automatically turn into this link...

[div style="margin-left:1em;"]http://www.google.com
To make a link out of custom text, use the link button (or type in the code). The following code in your message text...

[div style="margin-left:1em; color:#000088;"][link:http://www.democraticunderground.com/index.php|Democratic Underground]
... should result in this link in your post...

[div style="margin-left:1em;"]Democratic Underground

There are some known problems with certain characters causing links to be incomplete or not work at all. See this thread for more info on the known issues.
