EarlG, a post asking if we had bookmarks reminded me that I have wanted

to mention something about them for quite some time. The bookmark tab om my little tabket is white, and the lettering is such a light colour (incredibly pale) as to be almost invisible.

I guess my question is, is this almost invisible lettering simply a display issue on my part, or was it actually designed that way? And, if it is, could you take pity on those with visual issues?

Thank you for your attention...

Are you able to take a screenshot and email it to me so I can see exactly what’s going on?

Can you tell me which kind of tablet it is? (Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy, Amazon Fire, etc.)

If you know the version that would be helpful too.

I'll take a look into this and see what I can figure out. I may send you some simple instructions for taking a screenshot, if that's necessary (don't worry, it will be easy).

Just so I'm clear, does it happen with the Bookmarks tab in the top navigation bar on all DU pages, or is the problem specific to the Bookmarks page itself?

The problem is with, not just the bookmark button, but also the info and trash buttons The three of them are at the bottom of every OP, in a bar or box above the bar or box with the alert tab. The three buttons are an off-white, with VERY pale yellow lettering which I can only read when I enlarge everything, and bring the tablet up close. Obviously I know now that the middle button is for bookmarks, but for someone new to our site, if those buttons display like that for everyone, there will be an issue. Case in point, and this is not even a newcomer.. . a poster asked if we still have bookmarks. Should the button not be clearly visible?

Again, I understand if this little issue is limited to my tablet.

Thank you for taking so much time from your insane schedule to help me with this.

As far as I know this is a limited problem. The buttons are not designed to look that way. They don't look like that on any of my devices, and I haven't heard from anyone else with this issue (although that doesn't mean that nobody else is experiencing it -- they just might not have contacted me about it).

As it happens, one of the things on my insane schedule at the moment ( ) is an update to the footer buttons on OPs and replies. We've been working on this for a little while. It won't be very disruptive -- we're going to move a couple of things around in order to better display recs, and save a little room where we can.

However this means that all of the code which is causing your problem will soon be replaced with new code. Therefore, it doesn't make a lot of sense for me to dig deep into this particular issue right now, since the code which is causing the problem will be replaced soon anyway.

Now, it's quite possible that the problem will continue after the new code is in place, but if that happens, I can then fix it in the new code. We hope to have the new code ready to go by the end of this month, if not sooner, so hopefully this problem will resolve itself when we perform that update.

Once the new code is in place I'll check back in with you to see if the problem is resolved.

figured it was just my weird little machine.

Thank you for taking some of your overworked time to explain things so fully to this tech illiterate.
