Avatar pics not showing up?

Hi, this is a minor problem that started with the DU4 rollout, and I thought it'd fix itself by now but hasn't.

When I open a thread I see avatar pics next to some posters, but not all. In those cases, a blank (null) icon appears. As far as I can tell, there's nothing in common between the posters with the missing avatars (as well as those with the avatars). Does this happen to anyone else?

I'm running Firefox and Windows 11, if that makes any difference.

Edited to add: the avatar pics for individuals show up/become null randomly. For example, EarG's avatar shows up for me on some threads, but not on others.

I tried both Firefox and Google Chrome, and the same problem persists with both browsers. Beyond that, I am totally stumped.

4. Update: the problem seems to have gone away now.

For me, at least. I still have no explanation as to why it happened, or why it's solved now.

Except that my star membership expired recently. But I don't know yet if there's a connection.

Edit, 3/10/25: The problem has returned. I just recently renewed my star membership, and I'm now convinced there's a connection.

Apparently the current problem is widespread and related to last week's upgrade.
