Links disappear before I get a chance to click on them

It just started to happen, and when I try to click on the URL link, it disappears. I use Firefox, so I removed it, and reinstalled it. Didn't help. Sigh...

I just thought I would ask here...maybe someone knows what this is. Thanks!

1. That's frustrating! Which browser do you use?

Also, did you change the theme of the browser recently?

2. You need to provide more information. What links? On DU posts? Outside the DU website?

(ie., generally throughout the internet?) Part of embedded tweet messages on DU?

If it is DU only, perhaps you could point to a few posts where that has occurred.

First thing to check, though is your blocking add-ins and antiviral/antimalware programs that may be blocking the links. That is especially true if a major update of your browser, the ad-block apps or your anti-viral/anti-malware software has occurred recently.

3. I'm noticing the same thing,

so far it seems to be tweet links in DU. I'm using Chrome. At first the links showed but did not load the tweet. Now the link quickly disappears.

I fired up Microsoft edge and the links are OK.

4. This problem is only on DU

and the link disappears with Chrome....I just checked. I did not change anything with my settings, etc. BarbaRosa, I don't think we're the only ones with this issue.....

5. One thing to try...

Along with checking any add blocking software, check to see if it or you inadvertently turned off your java script. You'll usually find it in your settings under security, advanced or downloading in your browser.

6. I found something.

I'm using DuckDuckGo. In the upper right corner is DDG Privacy Essentials button, press it, at bottom of that screen is a Manage Whitelist link that takes you to a new screen, there you find a Show Embedded Tweets option, turn it on.

That seems to have taken care of the problem.
