I was thinking about getting a membership but I don't want to accidentally fund any efforts in support of Hillary Clinton. Do they disclose where their funding comes from and how they spend it? How much money do pro-Clinton groups give to the website owners?

The owners of this site support Hillary?

Or they have taken money from pro-Clinton groups?

Like has the Hillary campaign or an associated group ever bought a lot of ads on the site to give money to the owners that way?

Just trying to learn stuff!

DU is an independent site. The owners to my knowledge are not on Hillary's payroll and are not funded by her campaign. I believe that some or all of them support her election, but that is not the official position of the website. DU has been around since 2001 which is long before she was a candidate for president.

I can't say whether they will personally choose to donate to any candidates, but that's true of any business.

I don't have knowledge about funding from "pro-Clinton groups." DU is supported by many of us individually and we support a variety of candidates and issues. The premise of the site is that we are here to support Democrats in general. So it's possible that DU will organize fundraising for Hillary if she is the nominee.

If funding going to Hillary, Bernie, or any Democrat after they win the nomination is a problem for you, then DU is not the right place for you to be.
