Procter & Gamble's latest Always advertisement barely mentions the panty liner brand, runs more than 3 minutes long and won't ever appear on TV.

And it's a hit.

So far, it's been viewed 21 million times on YouTube, shared 300,000 times on Facebook and tweeted 40,000 times on Twitter.

The ad is distinctly digital, part of the Cincinnati-based company's growing advertising focus. It's also a soft sell for a brand that means $3.4 billion in retail sales worldwide, according to industry-tracker Euromonitor International.... MORE

in the midwest where girls athletics has always been part of a girls life. So from a very young age they were hitting, throwing, running and shooting a basketball with proper technique.
Today they are mothers and wives and quite successful in their fields. They always had confidence in the classroom and on the field.

I am so glad to see young women all over the place busting the stereotype. Maybe that insult will be put to rest soon.

I am also a former proctoid (worker for P&G). They have always been a leader in breaking down barriers. When I worked for them women were encouraged to move into non-traditional positions. They had much success in doing so in our place of work.

Let boys know that that can have confidence as well. The saying "like a girl" is often used towards boys as a put down. Until we as a society start bringing up our children of all sexes with dignity we will not be a truly free society, free of hate and fear. Our actions and attitudes teach children to grow up with the same twisted views, be they towards girls, boys, gay, straight, rich, poor, black or white....
