Not all radical feminists are TERFs. Indeed in this freely available pdf/article, https://openyls.law.yale.edu/bitstream/handle/20.500.13051/18252/88.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y Catharine MacKinnon presents "A Feminist Defense of Transgender Sex Equality Rights".
Andrea Dworkin too before she died was supportive of trans people too.

Don't take it any more seriously than you take the people who use it.

(26,441 posts)There are a distinct group of Feminists who take a narrow and transphobic view of gender and what defines a woman. Not everyone accepts or understands Gender identification and Sexual orientation are two distinct dimensions with people falling in a spectrum in between.
I do agree some people may throw the term TERF around too quickly, but it is not an attempt to create an "us vs them" divide. It truly is people trying to be understood and feeling very frustrated and, in some cases, feeling sold out.

(43,049 posts)discussion surrounding it goes off toward infinity. However, here I suspect just the labeling of this tiny aspect of it begs for an argument. That puts it in the all-encompassing "bullshit" category, as far as I'm concerned.

(2,110 posts)by their hostility to Trans people and given that its often Trans people who use that term, I believe you should reconsider not taking them seriously and their critiques of Janice Raymond, Germaine Greer, etc., for their views on trans people
