Talking heads' overused phrases of the 2012 election

The one phrase I've been hearing over and over again in election coverage is "Doubling Down."

It seems the election analysts can't get through an interview or panel discussion without invoking this term at least once.

What terms and phrases have you heard ad nauseum during this election cycle?

Everytime I hear "optics" being used, it's generally
by some clueless self-absorbed pundit who is trying
to make an impression with the fancy words

"Optics" are camera lenses and the like. "Visuals" are what they are referring to, but they think they sound cool deliberately using the wrong word.

This one was used all the time in previous campaign cycles, but it is beginning to creep into the narrative this time around, too.

For example, "If the Todd Akin story hadn't sucked all the air out of the room, this would be the biggest story in the news."

8. Divided nation

It is almost as if they are overjoyed by that apparent fact. Even if we are deeply divided, why would one want to bring attention to that fact?

Myself, I see a minority who want to deeply divide the nation over purist ideology. The pundits repeating this does nothing to unite us.

When Obama wins by a good margin in November, they will again wring their hands and wonder out loud if President Obama can unite this deeply divided nation.

It boggles the mind how they can keep playing this meme and yet say nothing about the origin of this divide, the demonization of liberals, Democrats, and the President.

We have to keep hammering on them to STOP using that!

Also, "entitlements" as if they are giveaways!

You are entitled because you pay in on them!

dumb shits.
