Already at least 2 disgusting episodes of racism at the GOP convention.

First, reports of a delegate tossing nuts at a CNN camerawoman, saying “this is how we feed the animals.”

And then an elderly, female, Puerto Rican delegate was jeered by the crowd, who screamed chants of "U.S.A." and prevented her from speaking until Priebus took the mike and asked the crowd to show her some respect.

These people are the animals.

As hurrican Isaac headed toward New Orleans, a storm of a different kind was brewing at the Republican Convention this afternoon. Around 4pm Tampa time, Puerto Rican Republican party functionary Zoraida Fonalledas took the stage to give her report. The floor was already a bit lively, with the energy of southern racists and nativists chomping at the bit for something (or someone) to rail against.

When Ms. Fonalledas began to speak, her Spanish accent prompted simultaneous chants to burst forth of "USA, USA!" and then, "Get them out!" Some of the biggest offenders were those in the Texas delegation. It was obvious from the Lone Star button-down shirts and straw cowboy hats the Hank Williams Jr. wannabes sported. They shouted her down vigorously for nearly a full minute as she stood in shocked silence. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Preibus had to come to the microphone and scold the offending delegates.

He asked the floor to give Ms. Fonalledas the respect she deserved as the Puerto Rican delegate to give her report while she stood behind him looking confused, saddened, and angry all at once. She maintained her composure in the face of blatant racism, and it's a wonder that she and her fellow Republicans can continue to support a party platform that is so filled to the brim with people who show their disdain for anyone non-white.

...."seat them now, seat them now, seat them now" from the Ron Paul delegates. The USA chants were not to insult the gentlewoman from Puerto Rico.

The RNC is scared shitless of the Ron Paul delegates, and because of convention rules, Paul's delegates won the right to be seated. The RNC changed the rules several times in the past few days to avoid having to honor the Paul delegates, even to the point of dismissing almost the entire Maine delegation, which were pledged to Paul.

The shouts of "seat them now" were directed to Rinse Penis and the other RNC heavies that basically threw the Paul delegates to the back of the bus and have refused to allow them to participate.

Long story short: the lady from Puerto Rico was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. She was smack-dab in the middle of an RNC pissing contest.
