MSNBC's Toure: Romney Engaging In 'Ni--erization' Of Obama

<snip>

He pointed to a speech Romney gave attacking what he called Obama's "wild" accusations against him. "This is what an angry and desperate presidency looks like," he said. "Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago." Touré reacted strongly to this.

"That really bothered me," he said. "You notice he says 'anger' twice. He's really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama. The otherization, he's not like us. I know it's a heavy thing to say. I don't say it lightly. But this is ni--erization. You are not one of us, and that you are like the scary black man who we've been trained to fear."

S.E. Cupp, the conservative on the panel, fired back angrily. She called Touré "dishonest" for saying that Joe Biden's "chains" comments were "divisive" but that Romney was using racial code. "That is so irresponsible, Touré!" she said.

The Romney campaign appeared to have noticed Touré's comments. A spokesperson told Breitbart News, "We are discussing this matter with network executives at MSNBC."

Anyone with the slightest familiarity with Obama knows that "angry" just isn't in his playbook. Mittens is appealing to the base as usual. He may get their votes only. They live in deluded lalala land. There they have their picture of Obama that they have to ignore the real Obama in order to keep up.

Whenever she gives her considered opinion, I turn the TV volume off. Can't stand her. If she were a DU smiley, she'd be this:

She's not analytical or considered in her statements BUT she acts like a host and no one can really take her to task.

She has that "little-miss-know-it-all" attitude, which is extremely off-putting. I've emailed MSNBC before and told them I thought she was pushy, pouty, and unprofessional. Maybe time to email them again?

how some right-wingers refer to Mr. Obama..."boy", the "Kenyan", and much, much, worse names I won't repeat, it makes it a tad difficult to believe race isn't a factor.

An intelligent black man in the White House. Oh, the unbearable horror. What is America coming to?

"not like us" "doesn't have our cultural references" Etc. They sit there doing nothing while Romney and his surrogates have been hammering away at the President from Day One.

And REALLY Romney's spokesperson talks to Breitbart?? How high brow of them. Do they know that most people in the media put them in the news max tin foil category?

Seriously?

This is all just ridiculous. Touré is right about this. Sorry if people don't like the way he said it.

I don't like what Romney is doing... My ears have been killing me with all the dog whistles as of late.
