Paul Ryan to Obama on Medicare debate: Bring it on

"The president, I'm told, is talking about Medicare today," Ryan told supporters at the University of Miami, where he graduated from college. "We want this debate. We need this debate. And we will win this debate."

Ryan sure is sounding cocky. In the article, it is mentioned that Politifact rated Democrat claims that Ryan's plan would end medicare the "Lie of the Year" in 2011, something that I don't know how to debunk.

I'm trying to figure out how to handle this info in discussions and chats with my friends from the "dark side". Any helpful links?

is all they need to do to say they've saved Medicare.

But most people think the word Medicare actually means something, and that it's a benefits-based program, not a 20 or 30% off coupon.

the American people. I know many seniors that are buying the Obama cut $717 billion from Medicare. They are saying
Ryan's cuts won't affect people 55 and older, many people I know that are over 55 don't give a damn about anyone but themselves.

don't know much about the school, but if they turned a guy like that out... I doubt it's big on liberal education.

Ryan said Obama cut $716 billion from Medicare to pay for his health care plan.

But from Kos:

We all know that Paul Ryan, in the budget Romney endorsed (last time I checked, anyway), included those exact same cuts to Medicare. And none of those cuts actually hit beneficiaries. They rein in the huge amount of taxpayer money going to overpayments in the Republican-created (and not paid for) Medicare Advantage program. So, you could almost commend Ryan for seeing where it makes sense to cut Medicare. Almost.

The health care debate is huge. The more truthful info shared, the better.
