2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe polls have spoken. Hillary won the debate.
Turns out that the pundits were right and the online polls were wrong. There are now 4 post-debate scientific polls.
NBC-WSJ 49-29 (+21)
ABC-WaPo 54-23 (+31)
Monmouth 48-21 (+27)
CNN/ORC 45-29 (+16)
HRC is ahead by an average of 23.5 points in these polls.
In the four last polls before the debate, according to RCP, her lead averaged 19.25, an improvement of 4.25.
The last pre-debate polls by these same pollsters had leads of 7 (NBC-WSJ), 20 (Monmouth), 18 (ABC-WaPo) and 18 (CNN/ORC), for an average of 15.75, and an improvement of 7.75.

The Hillary rebound and Bernie plateau are now clearly visible even in the default HuffPo chart that Bernie fans like so much because it starts way back in 2013 which makes the earlier Bernie surge look so steep.

(146,286 posts)The OP is about polling numbers, but your implication is about something altogether different, it seems to me. Clearly, Clinton's polling has improved. Is it a new trend? There's no way to tell without more time passing, but people are noticing that her numbers are better following the debate.
Nobody needs to "get a room." This is a room, and we're all in it together. Polling information is just that - information. What it means is open for debate, but it is information.
I see no reason to insult people for bringing information to the table for discussion. But, maybe I'm misunderstanding your comment. If so, I'm listening...

(30,481 posts)It is a skill very few of us posses. All of our candidates did quite well. The difference between the republicans and democrats debates is night and day. Really made me proud to be a democrat.

(146,286 posts)Why? Poll results are just numbers. The numbers are in the OP. They may not meet with your approval, but there they are. Clinton supporters are pleased with those numbers. Why should they not be, and why should they not discuss them in a DU thread?
On edit: I see that your previous reply was hidden and that you're now on a time-out, so I won't expect a reply. It's too bad that your voice on DU is silenced for a while.
