Final FL PPP poll: Romney 39, Gingrich 31

The final PPP survey before the Florida primary election day shows Mitt Romney leading Newt Gingrich by eight points, 39 percent to 31 percent, with Rick Santorum at 15 percent and Ron Paul at 11 percent.

The pollsters said they found stability in the numbers over their three-day track.

===========

Look like a solid win for Romney today. The only question is what will Newt and Santorum do afterwards.

1. What?!?

That can't possibly be!

Newt is already telling us what he'll do as president before President Obama's plane touches down in Chicago on 1/20/13.

You can even read about it here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/12516933

2. Eight points?

Noot can catch that. If it's within five points before the Central time zone counties close the polls, he's used the Bradley effect to fool the pollsters. The Space Coast liked what Gingrich had to say, even if they know he'd have a tough slog trying to get even a tenth of it accomplished.

I have a six pack of Victory Hop Wallop in the fridge for tonight's festivities, I'll toast one to you, Bob!

4. Not a solid win if it's only 8 points. With the kind of money Mitt and his Citizen United

friends have spent, he should be easily winning by double digits!!

5. What will they do? So Florida, SC, IA & NH get to choose the nominee

and none of the other states matter. I believe Newt said he will continue. I hope he does. More than half of the GOP and in some cases, much higher than that, have voted against Romney. He isn't exactly the strongest front runner.

8. Wonder if that includes early votes that have already been cast?

If not, perhaps that is why Willard's lead in this poll is smaller than has been reported elsewhere.....

9. Sounds like it might be a compilation of the two....since they know what early voting was

Raleigh, N.C. PPP's tracking of the Florida Republican primary wraps up with Mitt Romney at 39%, Newt Gingrich at 31%, Rick Santorum at 15%, and Ron Paul at 11%. Our three days of tracking found very little movement in the race: Romney was at 39-40% every day, Gingrich was at 31-32% every day, Santorum was at 14-15% every day, and Paul was at 9-11% every day.

One thing Romney did a great job of was getting his voters out early. With the third of the electorate who have already cast their ballots he leads 45-32. That means Gingrich would have to win election day voters by somewhere in the 6-8 point range to pull off the Florida upset, but we find that Romney still has a 36-30 advantage with those are waiting to vote tomorrow.

That's what is in many polls.

Hopefully not so much in the Brats. I wouldn't know, I smother them in sauerkraut and mustard.
