Note and quote this: "Our rights come from nature and God, not from the government."

So says Paul Ryan.

The Declaration was NOT written by Thomas Jefferson. The Constitution was NOT written by James Madison. Neither are upheld by Congress or the Supreme Court, but by nature and God.

Well, Mr. Ryan, I hate to have to be the one to bring you the news, but neither your god nor Mother Nature brought us ANY of our rights. They were proposed by Congress and ratified by the GOVERNMENTS of the states. Mortal men (and now women). Remember us? We're the ones who vote. Oh, sorry. I forgot. You wouldn't remember us..............

Just remember, Paul, "it's not nice to fool Mother Nature....................."

Congress as you assert.

Our rights are natural, inherent, unalienable/inalienable attributes of sovereign individuals. They preexist the Constitution and do not depend upon it for legitimacy.

Our Constitution requires government to protect all such rights whether enumerated or unenumerated for a majority or a minority.

Most important, it’s impossible to give away an unalienable/inalienable right.

dissolve the Constitution and the rights don't live on because there is no mechanism to see that they do. These rights don't exist in some magical Neverneverland. They are concrete and must be protected. This is not some theoretical, theological matter. This is the right to eat with everyone else at a lunch counter or to ride anywhere you want on a bus or to vote...God is not coming down anytime soon that I can see to enforce these rights and Mother Nature is concerned about other thigs these days.

9. Another name for natural, inherent, inalienable rights would be Universal Human Rights. Interesting

that Republicans fight so hard against those rights in the UN and have contempt for Universal Human Rights in areas occupied by the US military and it's proxies.

So the Universal Human Rights recognized in the Constitution and legally protected in the Bill of Rights are not for everyone. Only Americans enjoy these rights and only some Americans. Poor non whites can pound sand or be shot for pointing a cell phone at a cop.

That's a long winded way of saying that deep down Republicans and Teabaggers have utter contempt for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights that they claim to defend.
