Why are the insiders trying to keep me silent? Lessig asked in a recent Politico Magazine piece in which he suggested that Democratic Party honchos are trying to stifle his campaign finance reform message. Lessig said that Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has given him the cold shoulder despite his numerous pleas to participate in the primary process.

(13,570 posts)He is HIGHLY educated, VERY smart, a great person, and has done some great things is academia. BUT he has never held high elective office or high level government positions so therefore does not have the governing or executive experience necessary to be president.

(14,733 posts)No, but seriously, you probably had to actually having polling somewhere actually have people mention you to get on stage. I haven't heard of Lessig moving the needle in any polls. He probably ranks right there with 'Sydney's Voluptuous Buttocks' in polling beyond the people who actually did get on stage.

(22,000 posts)Right now I am in the middle of his book Republic Lost. I believe campaign finance is a very important issue and needs to be solved, however I'm not sold on a candidate running on one single issue and then stepping down.
In my opinion, (and this is nothing personal against any of them) I don't think he, nor Chaffee or Webb should be on the stage.

(45,319 posts)will resign upon completion of one single objective. He has not bothered to present the pig in a poke he would run as 'VP' who would be already set to be President. If his 'plan' is to run only to quit, his VP is of total importance. Why didn't he understand that?
