I think that Reid's source may be Robert Kraft,

owner of the New England Patriots. He was one of the original investors in Romney's company, has consistently contributed to Democrats over the years (including contributions to Reid's last campaign in 2010), and has the stature to be able to get a senator on the phone. He knows Kerry and travels in social circles that makes it likely that he has met Reid, as well.

There are a few current or retired staff who were there during Romney's tenure and who contributed to Reid's campaign, but I don't think any of them are sufficiently prominent that they could very easily get Reid on the phone. There are, of course, other Bain investors and staff from his tenure who have given to Obama rather than Romney, which itself might be telling, but this does not suggest a connection with Reed.

As to Kraft being Romney's source...It would certainly go a long way in redeeming him in my eyes after his teabagger flirtation (attending their events) and dating a woman not even half his age when Myra's body isn't even cold yet.

That is when he started his cheese business. Bob Kraft is a business man who made money in paper and packaging and then bought the New England Pats. He has always given money to both Repubs and Dems but has been giving more money to Dems lately.
