Gingrinch: "I will go all the way to the convention. I expect to win the nomination"

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Former House Speaker said he plans to go all the way to the Republican National Convention, regardless of what happens on Tuesday, when GOP voters in Florida decide who they want to take on President Obama in November.

"I will go all the way to the convention. I expect to win the nomination," Gingrich told reporters after a rally here when he was asked about his campaign's plans if he loses to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on Tuesday.

"Why don't you ask Gov. Romney what he is going to do if he loses, since he is behind in both national polls" which show Gingrich in the lead, he replied.

And I hope Newt is smart enough to realize that nothing will "go to the convention" unless the GOP wants it to.

to battle to the near-death for the duration ...

Maybe that will save the Dems some money for the home stretch ... but then, all we might need to do for campaign commercials is play clips of the Republican debates ...

Even after his campaign tanked last summer. He's completely full of himself, and the tea partiers love that about him.

Never count him out. He won't win; but he won't quit. He reminds me of the Japanese war cabinet in the summer of 1945. Just because there's not a plausible win scenario doesn't mean you can't fight till you're entirely obliterated.

IF Newt can't win in the biggest state in the south, he can't win. But then again, no one ever votes for any Republican because of a firm commitment to acknowledging reality.

He wasn't gonna surrender, no way.

Newt won't surrender, either; he'll go down fighting. Let's hope he takes the rest of the GOP with him.

He's delusional. He'll say it, but I bet he's forced to dropout by the end of February. He's broke and even with all the money that casino mogul is spending to prop up his floundering campaign, it's still not going to be enough.
