With All Due Respect, this man truly should be our president!

Amazing interview with Bloomberg. Relevant Qs asked & honest, excellent answers given. The comments at youtube (click top of video) are priceless.

Please watch, even Hillary fans...especially Hillary fans.

Damn. How great would it be to have a President Sanders?

I hadn't even thought of that. I wonder if some group could start a "mirror website" to youtube where volunteers, perhaps assisted by software, could create transcripts of popular/requested spoken-word videos? We could really use something like that. The costs might be covered, or helped, by government or private pro-deaf groups. It's a thought...

16. I don't think I've ever been good at predicting anything, but

When I saw Obama give his speech at the Dem convention in 2004, I knew (absolutely knew) he was going to be our next President. I actually said out loud..."He's going to be our next President".

I don't think I've ever felt the presence of greatness in a politician like I did in that moment, and while I knew being biracial would not be in his favor, I knew that he was impressive enough to win anyway. And in spite of the fact that he wasn't able to accomplish as much as I hoped for, I still think he is a truly great man and one of the best Presidents we will ever have.

I think Bernie will also be one of the best Presidents we've ever had.

I dearly hope that people who don't know who he is and what he stands for will learn about him before it's too late. We cannot count on the MSM to do it; 90%of the time they mislead about him. We have to do it. And give what we can to his campaign so that they can buy time on broadcast media. I also like rhett o rick's idea of flashmobs to act out mini advertisements in public areas. Get people talking, googling, searching youtube, facebook, etc.

57. A quieter way to advertise Bernie

might be their new tote bag. https://store.berniesanders.com/collections/tote-bags

Seems less in-your-face than a button or tee, and when people are shopping there's no time for torch and pitchfork behavior, but if someone expresses interest, it could open an opportunity to tell them a basic thing or two about Bernie, like, "he's for us, he's for the people." I've used that one, and it seems to make righties relax a little. It's probably a new concept for them. It's a people's revolution, so every little bit helps.

"for us, he's for the people," if anyone asks. Maybe even have a few leaflets about Bernie tucked in the bag if someone wants to know more about Bernie.

Many of us live in conservative areas where a pin and T-Shirt would be too "in your face" but a tote bag in the grocery check out line is an opportunity!

Great suggestion.

72. I found this that seems to be "Bullet Points" that might be good for a Quick Leaflet:

If I was going to do this as a Leaflet...I'd move #12 to the Top. But, I thought for "Low Information Voter" who doesn't have time...they just need a scan of issues...and so far this is the best "sort of" Bullet Scan I have found ...although Bernies Campaign has much better its more detailed than random people on a Grocery Store line might be able to handle and if it could be put on One Page...all the better?

My only complaint with these "Twelve Points" is that I'd like to put #12 as the FIRST....but, then that wouldn't be fair to the Blogger who put these Talking Points together.

12) Get Big Money out of Politics
Because of legislation such as Citizen’s United, corporations are now able to fund campaigns with billions of dollars, in the form of Superpacs. The donations provide incentives for congressmen to vote and act in the favor of corporations rather than U.S. citizens. Bernie Sanders wants to repeal this act, and have campaigns publicly funded, so all citizens, and not just the wealthy, can run for government positions.

BERNIE FOR THE PEOPLE

12 Reasons To Vote for Bernie Sanders
Posted on August 11, 2015 by carastine

https://gravitasperpetua.wordpress.com/2015/08/11/12-reasons-to-vote-for-bernie-sanders/

These are just 12 of the life changing platforms of Bernie Sander’s campaign. His voting records over the past 20 years demonstrate his legitimacy. If you agree with the following ideas, Bernie Sanders may be the candidate for you in the upcoming election.

1) Raise in minimum wage to $15 dollars to ALL positions.
Build up the middle class. Create incentives for people to get off welfare.

2) Equal Pay for Women
Women currently make .78 cents to every U.S. dollar. Bernie wants to pass legislation to fix that.

3) Paid vacation and maternity leave for all full time workers.
The U.S. is one of the only developed country without these policies.

4) Rebuild the U.S. Infrastructure.
Sanders want to put a 1 trillion dollar investment to rebuild roads, railroads, pipelines, and buildings. This would create 13 million decent paying jobs and make this country more efficient and productive. This also will make railroads an effective mode of transportation again, which will end airplanes monopoly on travel and lower cost of travel for all means of transportation.

5) Educational reform including Free Tuition to all Universities.
Put an end to state governments profiteering off of devastating student loans.

6) Climate Change Initiatives.
The U.S. should lead the world in climate change by reducing carbon emissions, straying away from our dependence on fossil fuels, and implementing alternative forms of energy.

7) Police Reform
Demilitarize the police. Make them part of the community, rather than separate intimidating entities. Ease the tensions between the public and police force.

8) Expand Social Security
Many GOP candidates wish to eliminate social security, which would force 70+ years old to continue working indefinitely.

9) End Trade Policies that encourage Job Outsourcing
Trade agreements like NAFTA and TPP provide incentives for greedy corporations to outsource jobs in China to employ workers who will work for $3.00 an hour. This is unethical and takes away from U.S. jobs.

10) A More Efficient and Free Health Care System
Because health care when you’re sick is a right not a privilege.

11) Reduce Income Inequality
Put more money in the pocket of the middle class, through free healthcare, college, and vacation leave, and pay for such programs by taxing the 1% of the population that holds 90% of the income in this country. Tax Wallstreet and enforce taxes on corporations that try to evade them by banking profits offshore.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Aside from these platforms, perhaps the greatest reason to vote for Bernie Sander is that he is a class act. He does not believe in mud-slinging, negative campaign ads, donations from corporations, and the drama that goes into politics. When rudely interrupted at events, or interrogated throughout interviews, he always takes the high road and refuses to lose his composure even in stressful and unwarrented circumstances. Bernie Sanders stands for equal rights to all genders, races, and sexualities. He speaks for the middle class, rather than the Koch brothers and other billion dollar corporate leaders. He so far is truly seen as the voice of the people.

Mon Sep 21, 2015, 12:00 PM

74. That's a great list.

Your initiative and creativity in searching around, finding it, and giving it serious thought is inspiring, KoKo.

I agree with you that #12 should be up front because it sums up Bernie's overall goal and lets people know where he's coming from. And though I respect and admire your consideration for the blogger's preference, if and when you make your own pamphlet, you wouldn't need to align it perfectly with theirs. If you wanted to credit them, you could say something like, "based on."

It's a good idea to examine each point before using it, because there is at least one glaring error in the blogger's list. #5 - "Educational reform including Free Tuition to all Universities" is untrue. Bernie calls for free tuition to all public colleges/universities. Imposing that rule on private institutions is illegal and would probably make Bernie sound like a nut.

The language in #6 could be better. "Straying away" is really weak. "Reducing" would be an improvement, and there may be an even better verb than that. (I have always had difficulty with language and so learned early on to love thesauruses http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/reduce ).

#8 needs a better explanation. There's a lot more to it than that.

Lists like these should be as brief and to the point as possible. It's important how a candidate is introduced to those who aren't familiar with him/her. That's why I wish the Sanders campaign would come up with their own list and make it available to the rest of us. It requires communication specialists, experts, pros, if it's to be done well.

But until they do, a list like this is very good and a great start. And I think Bernie is fortunate to have you on his side, KoKo.

I remember a clip of him talking about how well Bernie will do to the guffaws from Joey Scar and Meaka. Then, when the polls started showing Sanders winning in NH and Iowa, Halperin had a slight grin on this face as though he was telling the two hosts, "I told you so."

53. Great responses.

And so much for the meme that he doesn't attract voters of color. People need to go watch that clip.

Also, Bernie kissing his little granddaughter was so sweet.

64. Loved that.

Heart warming; there are so many of us, and we all support him for similar reasons. Thanks, KoKo!

52. Not great. It takes more than telling us

what is wrong. You have to work with Congress and neither Bernie nor his supporters will compromise one bit. That is why he is ineffective ,

65. He has proposals for every single item.

They're all practical, and they all make sense.

Maybe that is why he is so effective at winning supporters in record short time.

66. My Republican husband,

who DID vote for Obama twice, told me today, "I like Bernie Sanders. Everything he says makes perfect sense."

68. Love to hear that, thanks for sharing!!

My very right-leaning sister said the same thing...that is until she heard a report on the WSJ bogus $18 trillion article. She's in Texas, and doesn't do primaries, so it isn't a big deal....hopefully your DH isn't so easily swayed.

67. Someone else posted a link to the Robert Greenwald documentary "Iraq for Sale."

I watched that and right afterwards watched this interview with Bernie. What a contrast of the possibilities in politics.

We need this guy in the White House.
