Joe Biden Worried Hillary Clinton Isn't Credible On Income Inequality

Posted: 08/24/2015 09:05 PM EDT | Edited: 4 hours ago

WASHINGTON -- If Vice President Joe Biden decides to jump into the presidential race, his decision will be driven, he has said in recent conversations, by a belief that Hillary Clinton's background won't allow her to be a credible messenger when it comes to income inequality, which Biden sees as a defining issue. But even as Biden sees that opening, and is being urged by members of his family to run, his remaining reluctance stems from his wife Jill Biden's discomfort with a bid at this moment.
snip---
Beyond family misgivings, Biden is also waiting to see how the current Democratic primary process plays out. It's not just Hillary Clinton's trouble shaking criticism over her use of a private email account while secretary of state that he's watching. Biden has also expressed concerns in conversations with fellow Democrats that Clinton won't be able to effectively push issues like economic inequality, owing to her time at the Clinton foundation and the paid speeches she's given since leaving the State Department.
snip---
For weeks now, Democratic officials had assumed that talk of a run from inside Biden's orbit was merely an effort to keep options open should a Clinton candidacy fall apart. But in recent days, the chatter has grown louder and more specific, with inquiries being made into how a campaign structure could be put together and how much money could be raised. Speculation hit a near fever pitch this past weekend, after the vice president met Saturday with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), who has yet to endorse in the primary.

Supporters are paving the way for Biden to jump into the race, with the Draft Biden campaign building up a grassroots network and raising funds. And on Monday, the Washington Post reported that major Democratic fundraisers were invited to meet with Biden at his residence.

1. I'm worried that all Joe is worried about is whether Hillary SOUNDS credible.

Whether she LOOKS credible. Appearances, believability.
I have no reason to believe either one of them would actually help.
Do they even know that we can Google records now?

Showing he can run with a message against Hillary that is not guaranteed to start a war.

That said, his track record of supporting big biz with the horrible bankrupcty laws and his vote on Iraq leave me a little cold.

I'm sticking with Bernie.

speech just one month ago, telling his audience that there is no excuse for Dems to claim they 'have to do it because the other guys are doing it'. So when they say can he 'raise enough money' I feel like I never read the text of his speech, unless they are talking about joining Bernie and raising it from ordinary people.

He won't have much credibility if he starts taking money he has so clearly stated is a number one reason why we cannot get good legislation passed and why Dems need to 'lead the way' in getting it out of our system completely.

Sadly, there have been 25 years of scandals following the Clintons.
Joe fears they'll drag her down in 2016.

Clinton was President for 8 years. He has zero, as in not one, as in not a single, solitary person convicted of any crime that was committed while serving for him. Not one. yeah what a scandal. And that was with the Independent Council law functioning the entire time he was in office. He is the one and only President under that regime not to have had that happen.

prevented other women from corroborating her testimony, and helped put Clarence Thomas on SCOTUS.

And he's voted for some abortion bans.

No, thanks. We could do better with Hillary, Bernie, or even Martin.

P.S. HBO is releasing a major movie on the Anita Hill hearings in 2016. It will star very high profile actors, including Kerry Washington as Anita Hill.

Assuming that the movie is an accurate depiction of the hearings (which many of us watched), it will be gripping. And Biden won't look good.

She's good on some issues, IMO not as good as Bernie but this issue I don't trust her at all.

She seems to have lost all of her principles due to spending the last 25 years in dc.
