Romney Tries to Pry Away Some Votes in N.A.A.C.P. Speech

Four years ago, Barack Obama captured 95 percent of the black vote. But this year, in an election in which every vote may matter, Mitt Romney is not giving up on that front.

On Wednesday, Mr. Romney will make a pitch to the nation's premier civil rights group, testing President Obama's overwhelming support among black voters by trying to pry away some defectors with his pro-jobs message at a time of 14.4 percent unemployment among African-Americans.

Mr. Obama is passing up the chance to address the group, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and sending Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. instead.

While blacks are expected to solidly back Mr. Obama again this year, he faces challenges in generating the same enthusiasm as in 2008. The level of black turnout could be especially crucial in states like North Carolina and Virginia, where black voters had an outsize influence in the president's relatively narrow victories four years ago.

But isn't Romney more comfortable around rich white folks, according to former Politico reporter Joe Williams?

1. Last election, Barack Obama captured 95% of the black vote, sure...

Before that, Kerry captured 93%
Gore got 90%
Clinton got 88% and 93% for his first and second elections.
Dukakis got 87% in '88
Mondale won 95% of the black vote in '84
Carter got 81% and 79% when he ran.

It's not a color thing. it's a "Republicans fucking hate Black people and black people know it" thing.

If only white people would pick up on the fact that republicans fucking hate white people, too.

Most of us support Obama because he's a Democrat. Being black is just icing on the cake but it's NOT the driving force. If it were, say hello to Senate Michael Steele or Senator Alan Keyes.

Black voters are smarter than that, and I wish that people would stop this bullshit! It's offensive and irritating!

Pay your de facto poll tax to the State as you pay for that birth certificate, get your photo id and they just might let you vote; only to have the ballot counted on a machine easily hacked.

5. And just how is Mr. Whitebread going to appeal to non-whitebread voters?

He's so white that he's like a white guy. You don't get anymore white than that. I'm technically a caucazoid, but I actually spend time in the sun and I actually get a tan. He never gets out of his mansions and he's as fucking white as white gets. On top of that, he doesn't have a clue what non-white Americans have to deal with. He calls them "servants" (another word for "slaves&quot and couldn't under any circumstances know what they go through on a daily basis. I do. I'm not rich, but I know what being non-white means and how non-whites are treated by people like him. FUCK YOU rMoney!

Especially with the Mormon faith's reputation of racism against Blacks, and his party indirectly trying to disenfranchise minorities. I'd love to hear how he'll answer to that if asked about it.

the Mormon church was letting Black people become members, he pulled over to the side of the road and wept because he was so happy. http://althouse.blogspot.com/2007/12/mitt-romney-on-meet-press.html
