Scott Walker Declares War on Wisconsin Deer Hunters - Wants them to Pay Up

Is Wisconsin a testing ground for a new GOP strategy to sell prime state hunting grounds to private companies who then charge hunters money to hunt there?

Are the GOP and the NRA planning to betray Hunters in order to cash in?

Looks like it

We need to get this out as it will cost Walker votes he probably could have counted on. WI_DEM May 2012 #6

I'll have to put that bee in my gun-toting, hunter-loving, repub cubbymates bonnets. That just might make their heads explode!

Should make for an interesting afternoon.

but think it's rather funny since NE WI where I live is redneck, deer hunting territory. They all love scotty boy but maybe this will make them think twice. Always say the Democrats will take their guns away, well this will hit them right in their wallets. They are complaining now that there aren't any deer to hunt so this might really have their heads spinning.

I've seen this guy that walker hired, he's as mean looking as the rest of the repubs.

And I know there are some here on DU, why not contact the NRA and ask them about this? It would be very interesting to see who the NRA really supports, their members or the GOP?

Those of us who knew him shouted this warning all during the election.

Milwaukee Co was once a shining example of an area committed to the late 19th century concept of improving public health by providing spaces for outdoor recreation and relaxation. Not so much anymore...it's time to redistribute all the real assets to the wealthy elite.

With Walker's facilitation the vulture capitalists have been falling all over themselves trying to get control of extraordinary public assets handed down from previous generations.

They see the confiscation of the common-wealth and the return of 'property' to pure capitalism as THE solution. Taking the parks, service by service is part of their agenda.

This is actually a really significant issue in my opinion. If gun owners and dedicated hunters realized they were being taken for chumps - I wouldn't be surprised to see a real backlash. The question whether the NRA is on board is very interesting.
