Crist names running mate, Miami Dem Annette Taddeo-Goldstein

MIAMI --

Republican-turned-Democrat Charlie Crist has picked former congressional candidate and Miami-Dade County Democratic Party chairwoman Annette Taddeo-Goldstein as his running mate.

Former Gov. Crist made the announcement Thursday in Miami.

It is an honor and joy to announce @Annette_Taddeo as my nominee for lieutenant governor. http://t.co/sgohAbhd6w pic.twitter.com/F0ud90SmHh
— Charlie Crist (@CharlieCrist) July 17, 2014

Taddeo-Goldstein was born in Colombia to an American father and Colombian mother, and spent the first 17 years of her life in the South American country.

The pick comes less than six weeks ahead of Florida's Democratic primary and will help shore up support among the party faithful. Crist is facing former Senate Democratic Leader Nan Rich.

Taddeo-Goldstein is also a vice chairman of the Florida Democratic Party and is on the Democratic National Committee's executive committee.

Crist was a lifelong Republican until running for Senate as an independent in 2010, losing to Marco Rubio. Crist officially registered as a Democrat in late 2012.

didn't like the way he governed. Pretty much pushed him out the door & then we got Jebby's Boy, MARCO! Jebby turned against Crist for several reasons, and as I said in my comments below.... many stories around about who, what, when etc.

I don't like the way Florida society (IMO)is extremely segregated, politically corrupt and very class divided.

I DO hope Democrats here will be smarter than when Crist ran for Senator. Kendrick Meek had NO chance of winning, but took lots of votes from Crist. Despite Crist's past as a Repuke, and I didn't vote for him as Governor, his term was much more moderate than I thought he would be.

It seems he made decisions as Governor that Repukes here didn't like, wasn't extremely beholden to Jebby and then they didn't find him to be a "good" Repuke! Many stories have been told, but this time Democrats do need to vote for him. State Party here screwed up with Nan Rich. She's a good Democrat, but I think too late to the game.

BOTTOM LINE... The Alien MUST go! Rick Scott is truly wicked! He even looks scary. Seen him in person and not a pretty sight! The race is too tight IMO and I'm SCARED!

They merely take over if the Governor can no longer carry out duties. Its a figurehead position. Having a second person on the campaign trail doesn't hurt. It doesn't hurt she's a woman, a latina, and from South Florida. That she's part of Party elite isn't a good omen. Fl Dem Party is seriously FUBAR.
