Our priorities are so screwed up...

We cut entitlements but not military spending.

Increase military spending but cut support for veterans.

Cut spending on the nations infrastructure but boost corporate entitlements.

The Land of the Free has the highest proportion of it's population behind bars than any other country in the world. Mostly in private, for profit, prisons.

Throw drug users in jail but let CEO's that defraud our country remain free and and able to keep their jobs.

...there are many more examples of how we are not who we pretend to be.

corporate profits

nothing is ignored - charities, churches, education, etc, etc, etc are all a part of this generation's money-grab

Dem voters have to get a lot smarter during the primaries - electing the most charismatic corporatist because he is "electable" is how we got to this place. All that leads to is Republican priorities with a huge Dem assist.

On edit: btw, how many corporate criminals have gone to jail during this administration - and how many people in prison for non-violent drug offenses have been pardoned?

Any cut to defense threatens our troops, and if we get the bums off of food stamps, we are doing them a favor.

I know this because I see them every day on Facebook. Unfortunately, a lot of them are my friends and family.

agree with your post. And this is the tip of the iceberg. The unacceptable things we allow our country to do is despicable. No one in their right might would allow these things to happen. I would think a large majority of people in this country will agree that the above mentioned post items are unacceptable. Yet, it WAS allowed to happen, unpunished. Why?

The real question is how do we fix it?

And make sure it doesn't happen again. Why was this allowed if everyone knows the facts? Who allowed it? I think the main issue is accountability.

The Corporation, the M-I complex DDE warned us about almost 53 years ago now, they have a choke hold on the US aided by the misguided Tea Party types.

We're also at a point where too many democrats are willing to further cut food stamps, etc., for the not well off.

Everyone seems to love our Interstate Highway System, that was enabled by a high tax rate of over 90% and under republican rule. Now if we talk about raising the top tax rate to 40% it's a non starter like any income tax hike. We've come a long way baby but it's the wrong way. Ike is rolling in his grave just as JFK and both Roosevelts are.
