Granted, neither of them have a lot of positive points, but this kind of mudslinging for a governorship doesn't promise a great term. Of course, Koochicrazy would be an unmitigated disaster, and McAuliffe is the only logical choice. But he'll have to overcome some serious doubts to show Virginia and the Democrats that a vote for him was nothing more than damage control.

Nothing would please me more than Kooch going down in flames, of course, and McAuliffe merely has to help an old lady cross the street to beat expectations. But to explain to undecided voters that they HAVE to vote McAuliffe for the sole reason that he is NOT Koochicrazy is not exactly the best endorsement his own party can offer. I hope he becomes governor of Virginia, but I also hope he pleasantly surprises the hell out of us when he does,
