CBS: More than half of Republicans think these candidates SUCK

Poll: 58% of Republicans want more presidential choices

CBS News Poll analysis by the CBS News Polling Unit: Sarah Dutton, Jennifer De Pinto, Fred Backus and Anthony Salvanto.

The nominating process may officially be underway, but Republicans have yet to enthusiastically embrace a potential nominee for president - and despite the late date, most would like to see other candidates enter the race, according to a new CBS News poll.

The survey finds that 58 percent of Republican primary voters want more presidential choices, while just 37 percent say they are satisfied with the current field. The percentage of Republican primary voters that wants more choices has increased 12 percentage points since October.

2. Odd, but since the results are in it's as if the Freepers are holding a wake.

A multimillionaire with no fixed opinions other than liking to fire people doesn't fit their refined palates.

3. Yeah, and Tom Brokaw was saying last night how

independents who went for Obama are now going for Romney (he said this on the Maddow Show). He said this right after someone else had said Republican turnout yesterday was 40% lower than '08.

4. It's amazing how much they love their candidates right up until ..

they have to choose which one to vote for. Then and only then do they see the flaws that have been there all along.

5. Only 58%?

In all the prior elections, there was never more candidates running, that I can recall. And yet they want more? I think the main issue here is hidden. Anyone with a brain (on the GOP side) won't run. The tea party has totally screwed up their old time conservative, ineffective values. And look what's left? They're all friggin crazy. And they do not represent where people want this country to go. Even before the tea party, they had Bush. What a waste of time that was. So I'm actually surprised that only 58% are disappointed with the current candidates. It should be more like 90%. How could anyone in their right mind vote for these ass clowns? Not one of them is worth a vote. They all stand for "screw the middle class". And 37% are satisfied with these bozo's? How sad.

10. if they're not too embarrassed to admit they're republican,

they're probably too embarrassed to admit that none of the republican candidates should ever be president. so first of all the pollsters had to gather up people who still claim the party.

13. I forgot to add,,,,

According to the news yesterday, they had 40% less voter turnout that previous polls. I wonder why. Can we add that 40% to the 58% of the 60% that did show up? Yeah I know, it don't add up. But it tells me an additional 40% are also fed up with their bullshit.

6. Sorry guys but Mitt the Shit is It even if you don't like him a little bit.

Gingrich had to leave office in disgrace.

Perry is stupid.

Paul is Crazy.

Santorum is more interested in other people's sex lives then the economy.

And Mitt the Shit made millions off of the suffering of others.

Actually this guy is worth looking into. But the GOP is too stupid to recognize it. Shhhh, lets keep it a secret.

"Cus he he was Ambassador under Obama - Then Huntsman said he served his country, not the Republican Party - That'll sink Huntsman with the teabaggers and haters in general. Gets him major props with some NH voters, but he's heading into 'bagger country now.

7. So... what "other candidates" did they have in mind? Who do they want?

I mean.... I can't even think of a prominent Repug that isn't as loopy as the current crop. What Repug has DONE anything in the last 4+ years?... except obstruct and irrationally say " hell no!"?
Who do they want? Jan Brewer? Christ Christy? Sarah Palin?

Again, the GOP voters seem to think things just appear without reason or cause. The want services and street lights without there being any taxes. They want a viable candidate without there being any sanity. Repug politicians haven't governed, y'know, done any governing, since before 1993. They've just pursued personal interests.

22. Yep, Cause and effect

You are right, things do not just appear without reason or cause. For the last 4 years, they have done nothing but to try make everything fail, vote no on almost literally 100% of legislation and try to destroy the country so that obama would look bad during re-election.

Since every single Republican politicians spent 4 years thinking only of ways to make the country fail, than not a single person should be surprised that they hve no solutions. In addition, they have spent 4 years training their followers to ignore facts and buy into poorly based emotional arguments, they have the entire republican party well practiced in ignorant thought, so no shock that nobody has any solutions that can hold up to any scrutiny.

Lastly, they have no track record to backup their claims. If they all have such great ideas, why doesn't anybody have solutions. If they are such masters of the economy, why did it collapse when their ideas were implemented. If they are such experts on war, why is it that Obama took out two of the world's most dangerous dictators and they did not stop one after twice as much time.

For a group that speaks such a big game, they have not track record to back up their big claims.

8. But they will still vote for him

To quote what I heard in a bar recently:

After one person said "anybody but Romney", another responded with, "anybody but Obama". And they all agreed.

11. They said the same

thing about McCain/Palin about the indies. Indies are not going with Romney and they know it. False facts and or lies have infitrated the corporate media for years hoping how gullible the American public are so when the elections happen and hoping that it is close they can pull another Al Gore and John Kerry BS lost. The corporate cronies have instilled their minions in governorships and legislators in order to do that. Its call voter suppression, union busting, civil rights, et al., and if all fails then they have the United States Supreme Court who obviously in your face not there for the America people but for the corporations.

As Mit has said and truly believes "corporations are people my friends"

19. Bain owns shares in Clear Channel, which I believe has some shares in CBS.

The Corporate Media loves a fight. They are going to dream up competition where none exists. And they have a new darling: Mitt Romney.

23. Jeez

I knew there had to be a link between Mittens and CBS, with all the pro-Mittens propaganda they spew. The fact is, Mittens has been campaigning for over a year and most polls show Obama leading or a tie. That isn't good news for Mittens, because once Obama hits the campaign trail, its all over for Mittens. There is so much ammunition Obama has against Mittens because of the many gaffes he's made. I can already see the Obama team putting an Ad out about the statement Mittens made saying he likes to fire people.

Which is good news for us.
