Clinton aide: Only an “imbecile” would say Hillary’s faking

An outspoken aide fires back at conservative critics who said the secretary of state really had the "Benghazi flu"

BY DAVID DALEY

A senior adviser to Hillary Clinton has told the New York Times that only “an imbecile” would suggest that the secretary of state would fake an illness rather than answer questions from Congress about the Sept. 11 attack on the American diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, which killed ambassador Chris Stevens.

Clinton, who is recovering from a concussion and then the discovery of a blood clot near her brain, needed to cancel her appearance before an investigative committee in December. When the concussion was first announced, prominent conservatives including John Bolton, Charles Krauthammer and Monica Crowley all suggested there was something a little too convenient about the timing.

But in a story in Saturday’s New York Times about Clinton’s recovery, Reines — a Clinton aide with a history of speaking his mind — fired back at that notion. “She would have vastly preferred to testify that original date than go through the last 27 days,” said Philippe Reines. “Only an imbecile would say otherwise.”

A Buzzfeed story published after Clinton’s blood clot diagnosis collected video and tweets from some of those who did suggest otherwise over reports of the initial concussion.

They included Krauthammer’s diagnosis on Fox News that the secretary of state was suffering from an “acute Benghazi allergy,” and a New York Post editorial called “Hillary Clinton’s Head Fake.” That article suggested Clinton was making an unbelievable excuse by quoting from a Shel Silverstein poem about kids too sick to go to school.

Bolton is just not up to many tasks, thank goodness rmoney was not elected and we don't have to face having someone like Bolton as SOS, and he can take his Faux buddies with him. It is a bunch of Benghazi crazies running amok.

He is known for his dry wit and sarcastic responses. He is also fiercely loyal to Hillary. I would love to see him as Press Secretary under a Clinton administration. The toadies wouldn't know what hit them.

Justin Fishel (a Fox News producer) asked an asinine question at a presser with Victoria Nuland at the State Dept., she gave him a polite response, but Reines shot him this email:

Justin –

We owe you an apology. And I’m adding Bryan [a high-level Foxflack] so he’s aware of how badly we erred. I’m almost embarrassed to even admit this – but somehow your question at today’s Daily Press Briefing was somehow completely mauled and transcribed in the release below this way:

“Toria, can you expand on why Secretary Clinton can’t testify on Thursday about this? It seems that she has not been available to testify on the Benghazi situation on some very key dates, including the Sunday after 9/11 and now this Thursday.”

I just called them and read them the riot act for putting such misleading, accusatory, and absolutely asinine words in your mouth. Because after what we and her doctors explained over the weekend regarding her health, you couldn’t possibly have been insinuating the ulterior motives that question implies. No way. No credible journalist would do that without any basis whatsoever.

Another example was when some in the media claimed that Hillary had lunch with Valerie Jarret this summer to talk about replacing Biden with Hillary as VP. Reines shot the following:

This did not happen
They did not have lunch
They did not have any meal
They did not meet this month
They did not meet last month
They did not meet in 2012
They did not meet in 2011, 2010, 2009
This is not happening
Truth is that Ed Klein is an idiot with not a shred of credibility
Truth is that Ed Klein's motto is “If at first you don't succeed, lie lie again.”

president for going back to Hawaii to finish his vacation. Funny thing though those same assholes never complained about Reagan going back to his ranch (before cell phones) or about W. and his 200+ days of vacation in 2.5 years as opposed to President Obama's 84 days (from Jan 1, 2009 - the present).

FOX Newsers knew very well that Hillary wasn't faking it, but they lied about it anyway to push their usual anti-Democrat agenda.
