I'm listening to the audiobook of "American Theocracy" by Kevin Phillips. One of his premises is that there is a certain contingent of fundamentalist Christians and evangelicals who want to bring on "End Times" and see the chaos, destruction, and death to be a GOOD thing, to hasten Judgment Day and the return of Jesus.

Trump fits in with their blueprint for the future.

is why evangelical politicians like Scott Walker are so dangerous. I wonder if Jefferson saw this aspect of religion and it is part of the reason he was so fearful of religious interference in our nation.

It may or may not be so much about liking the man, Trump. It is more that we can not take anymore of the same despicable political mess that we are currently in. He represents change and not another political regime. He may be scary, un presidential, poor mannered, etc etc but he is not a lying criminal. He is not a politician. He will place capable people in departments that will make decisions for the correct reasons. Not for lobbyists or personal gains by special interest politics.

they don't know that is their problem. Repressive and hate thinking is all they know. Taught and spread by the Right Wing.

makes me think that "regime" or a dynasty is on Trump's mind, bigly. Like most old people, he wants to set up his legacy before he dies, and he wants to bequeath America to his demon children.
