Beyoncé-Bashing Trump Surrogate Calls Sexual Assault Allegations ‘Man-Shaming’

Betsy McCaughey defended Donald Trump by saying that the multiple women accusing the Republican presidential nominee of sexual assault are simply “man-shaming.”

McCaughey, the former lieutenant governor of New York, is most famous for inventing the myth of the Obamacare “death panels” and for defending Trump’s lewd remarks using Beyoncé lyrics.

“The polls show that Americans are not buying this roll out of accusers and this bigger theme of man-shaming,” she said of the myriad allegations of sexual assault against the GOP nominee, which polls show voters do believe.

The term “man-shaming” is a riff on the phrase “slut-shaming,” which often refers to the act of dismissing sexual crimes against women based on her perceived promiscuity. That McCaughey would reference this behavior in defending Trump is incredibly ironic, given that the GOP candidate recently attempted to discredit a former Miss Universe’s charges that he bullied her by claiming that she had a sex tape.
