Letter from George Bush I he left in the Oval Office for incoming President Bill Clinton
Could you see Il Douche losing the same way
on note: I am not and was never a supporter of the Bush's. But, Bush I has more class in his fingernail that Trump could ever have

(5,969 posts)Also, note the difference to the reactions after Obama won. Bush recognized that Bill Clinton being a successful President would have meant that the country was doing well, too, so he wished him good luck and hoped for his success...because the country depended on it.
16 years later, during a severe economic crisis, some republicans rooted for America to fail only to make Obama a failure. Their priority wasn't getting the country back on track, it was to make Obama a one-term President.

(9,683 posts)Reminiscent of what Hillary said in the last debate, that she wants to be everyone's President, including those who don't vote for her.
I found it to be incredibly admirable, given the tenor of this election and the disgusting personal attacks that have been waged against her.
Trump, on the other hand, doesn't even want to be his Deplorable's President...he'd throw them under the bus given the first opportunity. Trump would be Putin's President. Think about that for a moment.
Must say, in retrospect, and in spite of his politics, I respect Bush I's gentility.
