So-called "enthusiasm gap" nonsense.

What's this latest BS being pushed by CNN et al that there is an "enthusiasm gap" between the two parties; that the GOPers are "more enthusiastic" to vote for Trump than those who are voting for Hillary. They will do ANYTHING to create a story to try to keep this election close, so this is their latest schtick. I think we on the left are VERY fired up about not only voting FOR Hillary, but AGAINST their deplorable candidate and his even more despicable base. Hell, I can't WAIT to go to the polls and help purge our country of the orange fascist.

It is technically true that there is an enthusiasm gap between the core Donald Trump supporters and the Hillary Clinton supporters. Look at their rallies. Donald Trump's people act as if they are fighting for their very lives. Hillary Clinton's people are excited but not desperate to survive excited. This is undeniable.

However it comes down to numbers. Having a small group of extremely enthusiastic supporters still does not beat a large group of semi-enthusiastic supporters. Additionally, except for 2008, Democrats have always had an enthusiasm gap. That's why Democrats have invested in big data analysis and GOTV efforts.

So in the end a vote from a fire breathing supporter who enthusiastically voted counts the same as a reluctant voter who we drag to the polls.

Dems and Independents know that Donald is an existential threat to our Democracy, the enthusiasm to beat him is off the charts.

Some Hillary voters may not be enthusiastic, but I'm certain that the vast majority of us are determined (I'm determined AND enthusiastic).

Plenty of Trump voters are "enthusiastic" - and their enthusiasm is based on ignorance, hysteria and a rabid response to his demagoguery. I'm less interested in enthusiastic voters than I am in determined ones . . .

Changed any enthusiasm gap that previously existed. I think he succeeded in really firing up our base.

I think this election will see record-breaking turnout among core Democratic constituencies. We are mad as hell.
