(28,941 posts)Among other things, such as the RNC's own rules, voting has already begun, they know if they try to dump him, his supporters will go ballistic, maybe even violent. At minimum out of spite, they'll stay home or block vote third party which could seriously hurt the down ticket.
I love the sound of chickens coming home to roost.

In fact, it would have made Ted Cruz even a little more sympathetic in people's eyes.
