Ballot counting continues, Barber still leading McSally (Gabby Giffords' seat)
Pima County has added some updated results in the ultra close race for Arizona's Congressional District 2.
Democrat Ron Barber's lead in the CD-2 race now stands at 940 votes over Republican Martha McSally. And there are new numbers in another close race, Tucson proposition 409. The $100 million city street repair bond is currently passing by about 240 votes. The ballot counting continues here and around the state. 6. That's odd. I'm not a subscriber.
Google "Arizona Races Up in Air as Ballot Count Continues" and click on the first link. It should allow you to see the entire article without a subscription.

7. that WAS weird! google worked though, here is the bad news
Most of the uncounted ballots are in Maricopa County, Arizona's most populous county, which includes Phoenix. County officials there are working to count 27,000 mail-in ballots and 114,000 provisional ballots as of Wednesday evening, according to election officials.
Latino and Democratic activists there had hoped to oust Mr. Arpaio, a controversial figure known for his stringent immigration enforcement tactics and self-described "America's Toughest Sheriff." Mr. Arpaio led his nearest opponent Democrat Paul Penzone, by more than 86,000 votes. ![]() ![]() what an asshole, I had SO hoped he would be ousted unfortunately for me in Cochise County, the guy he endorsed won too, bleh Deaver was a repuke but he was actually a good guy most of the time (some of the border rhetoric is unavoidable around here and he indulged, but he wasn't any kind of arpaio type of bigot.) |
