(5,272 posts)even when they are wrong. Mike's been around long enough to know the game is fucked and has only changed for the worse, and I don't find his cynical critique valueless. You can't respond to people like him if you don't listen to their concerns, and there are enough of them that it matters. Too often the DLC wing of the democratic party in particular, has been MIA on issues of principle, either due to political expedience or corporate back-scratching, which I guess is the same thing.
In particular, Malloy seems deeply moved and distressed by wars and occupations, and state sanctioned murder, so while I don't personally listen to him because the gloom of hopelessness is fairly depressing, I cut him some slack and respect him.

(2,404 posts)The night she made that statement on air resulted in a huge argument between them. Some even thought that it would rip them apart. It was that heated. Mike could not accept the fact that Kathy would not vote for Hillary. So where do you think that puts him???
While he respects Kathy for voting on principle, he is practical enough to know that Hillary must be the next president.
HE IS DEFINITELY VOTING FOR HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT.
The OP is bullshit!

I will move myself out of this dialog since I obviously do not know what the situation is, and I will remove my other posts, since I was obviously wrong

(2,404 posts)...sounded angry. You probably do not need to remove any of your posts...don't think it is necessary.
I just hope that people understand that for some of us (who will support Hillary) feel profound disappointment that our candidate (Bernie Sanders) did not make it to become the Dem nominee. Malloy is one of the those that feels this disappointment and it is hard for him to accept the fact that his candidate lost. For him (and many others), it is more than simply the loss of a candidate, it is the loss of possibility...a profound loss of opportunity. Those that have supported Hillary from the beginning cannot understand this loss. To this day, there are some that still cannot accept the outcome.

(15,722 posts)But yeah, he's getting pretty tiresome to listen to lately.
He's all over Trump and Pence but keeps saying Trump will win the election, and that he won't vote for Hillary.
He is part of the problem but can't recognize it.

(2,404 posts)...the OP is WRONG!
What Malloy repeats over and over is that Trump will be the President. I think he says this to energize people and motivate them to get out and vote. He is essentially trying to scare everyone into voting.
As far as Hillary goes...Malloy does have a true hatred for her. However, he has indicated that he will be voting for her. He has criticized people who say they are going to vote third party. I have not heard him say exactly that he would vote for Hillary. But he continually implies that he will.
I like Mike Malloy. I enjoy his rants and I look forward to his insight. He is not for everyone. However, for some people like myself, he is an important part of my listening menu.

(4,742 posts)I started listening to him when he was on WLS in Chicago. He was a great talk show host. But he was an idiot to manage. I discussed, at length, with his former Program Director at WLS how big of an asshole he was to work with. So he was fired. And then he got into the internet audio world.
Now? He is a raging, foaming, blustering old fool. I try to listen every few months but he just rants, screams, foams, etc. He wants to out shock people on the left like Michael Savage does on the right. It is tiresome.

(7,358 posts)He's honest and for the most part I agree with him on most issues. However, it has become hard to listen to him. He has a lot of pent up anger it would seem. Like most of us. If you're not angry and depressed about the threat from the right then there's something wrong with you, you haven't been paying attention. We're clearly a country being run by Corporate Greed and Power.

(2,404 posts)Where anyone gets the idea that Malloy is not voting for Hillary is beyond me. I listen to him every night and he is definitely voting for Hillary.
Let me make an assessment here concerning Mike Malloy.
Mike is in his early 70s. He has been carrying the progressive banner for a very long time. Mike was a huge Bernie Sanders supporter. It is my belief that Malloy saw Bernie as our last best hope for saving this country. After 70 years he finally saw in someone what he has been professing his entire life. With Bernie's loss, I think Mike saw no chance to achieve what he so desperately believes in. Malloy loves this country and his disappointment is profound. Like myself, Mike does not see Hillary as remotely close to his ideal. But he also understands that, Trump is a clear and present danger to this country. Like many of us Mike has a visceral reaction to Trump and the thought of him being the president is so repulsive, he cannot even stomach the idea.
Trump's arrival on the political stage has short circuited all that he knows and loves about this country. As a result, Malloy is all over the map. One day he is convinced that Trump will be the president, on other days his reaction to this campaign season is ambiguous at best.
Malloy is a supreme cynic. And his feelings concerning this confusing time is not easy to interpret or negotiate. So, he should be given the benefit of the doubt if not our respect for what he has contributed to the discussion.
His style is not for everyone. I particularly like his rants because it represents the anger and passion that many of us share with him.
As he watches Bernie walk off into the sunset, he knows that he will not live long enough to see another opportunity to achieve his vision. I know how he feels.
