"Russia warns of terrible consequences if US attacks Syrian army" - anybody surprised?

Putin is saber-rattling to make Obama and Hillary look bad to make up for Donald's bad week. Putin is daring the US to respond to its indiscriminate and repeated attacks on civilians. Coming soon, Russian military incursions into Ukraine.

These events will come up at the next presidential debate, as well they should. Maybe during the VP debate also. Maybe Trump will have a hard time saying that somebody he admires is doing something wrong. Maybe it is all part of the grander scheme to make Trump appear to be stronger than Hillary.

1. I'm not sure that helps Trump. It makes you want to know more about his many ties to them.

2. That's not what the article says

The article is a warning that Syria will descend into chaos with militant Islamists running the country.

I think that they are right, at this point defeating Isis and Alquaida in Syria are at odds with removing Assad and his government. This is a sad but true fact on the ground. Unless we want to send 200,000 troops and occupy like Iraq. There is really no other solution than to defeat one or the other.

Very sad situation, which is why no one has a plan

Saving innocent lives is ALWAYS worth it.

10. Goody. War with Russia right after the election.

We're obviously being prepped for it.

5. Putin's and his economy is full of crap, only the top 0.5% survive, Trump's dream

There is not much the US can do right now around Aleppo regardless,
for many reasons, so this kind of posturing is laughable.

Assaad's regime would have fallen to ISIS or other Sunnite groups if not propped up by Putin, that's a certainty.

If Russia attacks the Kurds or Sunnites allied with Turkey though, I expect major pushback.

6. Of all the issues Obama had to face this was his most disappointing to many, including himself.

He is torn everyday by this raging situation. Had in gone in with troops, bombed the entire country into oblivion, and killed Assad in the process from the beginning, lost thousands of American military lives, the same folks now complaining would have torn him to shreds just as they are doing now. I would much rather take the flack and not have our troops on the ground there in large numbers. That said.
His biggest mistake was drawing that damned RED LINE.

Something about the color RED that is bad, indefensible, and disastrous.
