Scope of Trump's falsehoods unprecedented for a modern presidential candidate

Scope of Trump's falsehoods unprecedented for a modern presidential candidate
Michael Finnegan 9.25.2016

Donald Trump says that taxes in the United States are higher than almost anywhere else on earth. They’re not.

He says he opposed the Iraq war from the start. He didn’t.

Now, after years of spreading the lie that President Obama was born in Africa, Trump says that Hillary Clinton did it first (untrue) and that he’s the one who put the controversy to rest (also untrue).

Never in modern presidential politics has a major candidate made false statements as routinely as Trump has. Over and over, independent researchers have examined what the Republican nominee says and concluded it was not the truth — but “pants on fire” (PolitiFact) or “four Pinocchios” (Washington Post Fact Checker).

when he is completely unable to fact check his lies, after being confronted with them. Of course, I don't know exactly what will happen, but this is my hope and a pretty good guess.

Like they did with the "deplorable" line from Hillary.

Trump says two dozen more offensive things than this every day, but it's too many to hone in on any one.

But it is heartening to see the "lie" word finally out there in every broadcast after being verboten for so many months. Of course it's with the built in excuse that there is no obkigation to fact check during. Haven't heard any good excuses for not fact checking after.
They are literally so lazy it's great HRC has prepared them with her list of his lies.

How can Trump still garner 40% of the vote when he's a dangerous pathological liar???

It's like the more he lies, the more he gets away with, and the more popular he becomes. And civil unrest seems to work in his favor…

That's what scares me. Not so much Trump is a stone cold liar, but 40% of America is good with that!

What the hell is wrong with this country?

...and the rest of the Republicans are so uncritically steeped in "Clinton scandals" for the past 30 years that party loyalty trumps sense.
