Donald Trump's glittering empire of New York skyscrapers and Atlantic City casinos have long had a darker side, allegations that the mob helped build them. Trump's alleged ties to New York and Philadelphia crime families go back decades and have been recounted in a book, newspapers and government records. "The mob connections of Donald are extraordinarily extensive," New York investigative journalist Wayne Barrett told CNN in an interview. Barrett, the author of the 1992 unauthorized biography "Trump: The Deals and the Downfall," wrote that Trump's life "intertwines with the underworld."
-snip-
"There was a certain amount of mob association during which the father and he were building, which was very difficult to avoid in the New York construction world," Barrett said, adding, "He went out of his way not to avoid them, but to increase them."
In a recent Federalist article, David Marcus writes that Trump bought the property that his Atlantic City casino Trump Plaza would one day occupy -- for twice market price -- from Salvatore Testa, a Philly mobster and son of one-time Philly mob boss Philip "Chicken Man" Testa. (Springsteen fans might recognize the elder Testa from the opening lines of the song, Atlantic City.)
In his book, Barrett writes that Testa and a partner, who together headed a Philly mafia hit-squad called the Young Executioners, bought the property for "a scant $195,000" in 1977. In 1982, Trump paid $1.1 million for it.

You can't make this up.
Donald Trumps own campaign manager agrees that his supporters are a basket of deplorables.
Kellyanne Conway, who worked for Ted Cruz, called Trumps supporters downright nasty and above their "skeeze" on the John Gambling show in February.
She starts trashing Trumps supporters at 26 minutes into the interview. Please listen below. She even referenced how his supporters use the Canadian Ted birther attack.

IMHO, there is something odd about having pictures of yourself hanging all over your home.

(18,318 posts)From the September 8, 2016 issue of the Tampa Bay Times, an editorial
Editorial: Feds should investigate Bondi-Trump connection
"[Bondi's] Sticking to friendly national media outlets and avoiding Florida journalists is not the strategy of a statewide elected official with nothing to hide."
This quote serves to illustrate how all local politics has become national. Bondi makes her case of being a persecuted female, "bullied" by Clinton, to national level outlets because there still remains something of mass media's ability to legitimize and annoint stories worthy of national coverage, and Bondi and others now go to these "friendly national media outlets." They are viewed among GOPers as more than competitive with the weakened usual suspects (WaPo, NYT, LAT, AP, CBS, CNN, ABC, etc.), who in turn have and will ontinue to suffer 24-7 attacks on its "liberal" bias. The national media will mumble something about Bondi and Trump diploma mills, but they won't stick there junk out any further than necessary when the Right's "friendly media outlets" have compromised (in advance, it seems) the old MSM power to set a national agenda.
Don't expect any Bondi/tRump corruption charges to go anywhere.

(5,611 posts)of nonsense ideas that bolster the Trump conspiracy theory nonsense, and they keep promoting a RNC talking point that Hillary will not recover from this politically and will need to be replaced (Meghan McCain, who is always on the border of insanity, went on one of her typical rants in which she insisted that the pneumonia diagnosis means that the race is "done" . It is frankly disgusting that they are running with Trump conspiracy theories, and that they are pushing idiotic ideas in some lame attempt to scare low-info voters about Hillary's health. They are citing the New York Post as a SOURCE. We all know that Fox is full of shit but this is a new level of shit.
But of course Trump is skating by without releasing his taxes, answering to the very serious questions about the Trump Foundation's abuses, and repeating/retweeting moronic conspiracy theories. His surrogates are allowed to peddle his garbage on CNN and Fox nonstop. There are many Trump supporters who are also weirdly into conspiracy theories (they are of the "9/11 was a false flag," "Sandy Hook never happened and none of those little kids were murdered or even existed," blah blah "they are coming to take our guns" types). There some to be more weirdo conspiracy types these days, and Trump knows how to dog whistle nonsense that appeals to them.

Think about it:
Clintons have released all those years of tax returns.
Trump, none.
There has been no findings of any corruption or illegal activity with the Clinton Foundations.
All kinds of allegations with Trump so, talk about perception & illegal activitiy.
There have been no instances or any findings of Hillary attempting to bribe anyone.
Trump, Florida & Texas AGs.
There have been no instances of the Clintons stiffing anybody who has done work for them.
Trump a lot.
The Clintons have never taken bankruptcy.
Trump 3 or 4 times.
I mean especially, CNN keeps talking about transparency. You have one candidate who is transparent & one who is not & it is not that difficult to distinguish which one is not.
