2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI hope all the people who are selfishly considering voting
for a third party, or staying home, watched trump's speech tonight.
I hope they now realize that the two parties aren't the same.
Anyone who plays games and risks a potential trump presidency is repulsive.
People's lives and civil rights are at stake. Don't be the jerk that allows it to happen.

(7,321 posts)Yesterday I read somewhere around here that she has now locked in 273 Electoral votes. Oh yeah, I think it was CNN that called it.
She's got all the swing states locked in putting her over the top.
I really don't get the panic. She's so popular, and with all the Republican support.. what's the deal with the fear factor?
Vote for Hillary cuz Trump!

(7,906 posts)cause you concern, or fear if you want, then I think that is a pretty callous attitude.
Don't kid yourself, if you are not voting for Hillary, you are indeed voting for trump.

(11,539 posts)A lot of those posters here lately. I agree with you, the are very obvious, but they still keep stirring up things and trying to cause problems, and they just won't go away.

(5,390 posts)Knowing that both hubby and I are voting for Clinton in North Carolina and we are not alone. Many of my friends and co workers will be doing the same. We were all involved in Sanders campaign. I don't know anyone voting third party or staying home

(10,893 posts)for them. He can say some of the scariest things ever, but I doubt that would convince many of them to get over their blind hatred--oops...I mean "untrust" of the former SOS. They say they won't vote for her and that they see her as a crook, but they never say specifically how or point to anything she actually did. I've even come across some people online who claim that Clinton and Trump are friends and are all in on some secret scam. The tinfoil industry is strong and thriving in the U.S.

(30,481 posts)They are fucking morons. Truly ignorant people. Trumps limited vocabulary is more likely to swing them his way than anything else. He speaks their language. Stupid.

(2,542 posts)Seriously. Having a few issues where they maybe overlap is not the same thing, and even then, people who are honest will still be able to find the vast differences in policy approach.

(11,949 posts)You are correct. This is not a year for a 3rd party.
But it is the same as every year. Society has about 5% of the population who are incapable of fitting in anywhere. It is just in their nature to be contrary, even when it is against their self interest. We have all worked with that kind of person. There used to be a few of that kind here. They seem to be gone mostly. We should not be surprised that that inability to fit in with any group extends to the political realm.
Have a nice weekend.
