I may have turned a trump voter!

I was talking to the young man that mows my yard about future things that will be happening at my house. I try to schedule him just before any meetings so the grass is under control and he is getting used to that.

I mentioned we will be doing get out the vote from my house next week and he said he might not vote. I told him he needs to vote and asked who he was thinking of voting for - he said Trump. I asked him as a independent business person (he's trying to start a lawn care business) how he would feel about someone who made a deal for his services, then once the work was done offered 70% or less of the agreed price. He didn't think that was acceptable - I told him Trump has done this over and over and told him how many times Trump has been sued. He was really disturbed about that!

Then he said something about Hillary's lies but when I asked him, he really didn't know any specifics, just general, "She's lied." I told him she really hasn't and talked with him a little about how long Hillary and Bill Clinton have been in the public eye and how many times they have been investigated. Then I mentioned that the only thing that ever stuck was that Bill lied about a blow job. He didn't know that was what Bill Clinton was impeached for and thought it was ridiculous!

He brought up the emails and Benghazi - I reminded him that Benghazi has been investigated five - or is it six - times and the only thing they found to criticize were the emails. Then I told him that if Hillary had used the Department of State computer system she could not have gotten her emails while she was traveling; that the "classified" emails were not sent by her and were not properly labeled.

By the time he left he was really thinking about what I'd told him. I recommended that he really read up on Trump and how Trump treats his contractors and workers - I think that will have the most effect on him as an independent business person.

Oh - and he questioned why Trump would want to be president with how wealthy he was - I told him many don't think Trump is as rich as he claims and discussed how running a campaign could be a money making scam.

Hopefully he will seriously think about what he heard today.

4. What I tell Trumpers...

His narcissism is a danger to the country because our enemies will know exactly how to play him to their advantage. His narcissism actually concedes control to those who wish to harm us and Trump is oblivious to this fact. He recognizes no connection between his narcissism and the ability of others to take advantage of him because of it. Foreign policy is - I believe - within the top two concerns that the next president will faced with and Trump is sorely lacking in the skills necessary to navigate those waters!

5. Trump's business practices hit home faster than anything else

This young man has seen small business all his life - his father has a tree service - so hearing that Trump screws small businesses made more difference than anything else I could tell him.

While the personality stuff works on some people, I thought the practical things would get him better than worries about national security. This young man is in his early twenties, he's not worrying about what is happening with NATO or overseas.

Family and I have been going at it on facebook for some time now.

All 4 of my turns are in Virginia.

3x are so disgusted they will vote Republican, but elect not to vote at all in the presidential race.

1x is actually come around to, begrudgingly voting for Hillary.

I'm also close to getting a cousin and his wife in Louisiana to change over, and my grandmother, who has never voted in her life, at the ripe young age of 92 will be casting her first vote ever for Hillary.

7. Great! If each Democratic voter turned two Trump voters

This would be a land slide like never seen before!

I don't get out much, and I don't talk politics with most people but I hope I can make a difference in those few I do discuss it with.

I have one long time acquaintance who brought up Trump a couple of weeks ago - while I told her my opinion of Trump and that I will be voting for Hillary, I didn't try to covert her. She and her husband are original Tea Party members. My acquaintance with her is through a group we are both members of and both have been officers in. I prefer to keep the relationship cordial and I don't think I could change her mind.

My husband did have a discussion with her about the founding fathers - she has one of the bumper stickers that claims they were conservatives. My husband's contention is that the founding fathers were radicals - otherwise they would have just gone along with what the king wanted. He thinks he convinced her of that point but I doubt it will change her overall views.

So many of the Trump people I talk to get Mad and say shut up if I start giving them too many facts. They do not want to hear the true background on recent events.
I do not understand them. If they think my facts are false why do they run and hide?

9. Yes, I was pleased with that

This young man is not well known to me so I wasn't sure how receptive he would be. He may not be well informed about politics but he was willing to listen. I encouraged him to do some research on his own and I hope he does.
