Sorry, but that was shameful. Chanting "lies" while Leon Panetta was making the case against Trump inviting a Russian cyber attack? Fail.

Sorry to cast such dark aspersions, Republicans, but you have such a long sucky track record of dirty tricks that honest people can't help but wonder about you anytime something stupid or evil comes up.
Ya know what I mean?

(309 posts)Leon Panetta suggested that the Clinton team will see the TPP through to completion.
He's a long-time backer:
"Democrat Jimmy Panetta responding to a brilliant question from Calbuzz took off the table the one issue that could have given him trouble: he declared his opposition to the Trans Pacific Partnership.
Farr is one of the rare liberal Democrats who supports TPP, as does Jimmys father, Leon Panetta, the former Congressman, Budget Director, White House Chief of Staff, Secretary of Defense, CIA Director and current Central Coast icon. "
http://www.calbuzz.com/2015/11/20th-cd-jimmy-panettas-deft-move-against-tpp/
"Former defense secretaries Harold Brown, Frank Carlucci, William Perry, Bill Cohen, Donald Rumsfeld, Robert Gates, Leon Panetta and Chuck Hagel explain: The TPP will deepen relationships will allies in the Asia-Pacific region, strengthen the U.S. economy, establish high standards that mirror U.S. interests and values, and contribute to a safer world for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren.

I believe NPR stated the protests were against the TPP, and Panetta's statements about backing it.

You go right ahead and do that.

(3,813 posts)But at this stage of the game, it's far from a sure thing, so building and reinforcing constituencies and core principles is very important work.
Alienating constituencies and violating core principles could lead to the dismal scenario I posit above. But let's hope it remains a dystopian nightmare, and nothing more.

(309 posts)They were the generation that had public schools emphasizing volunteering...community service....some even required it for graduation. Through social media, they're more connected to the world at large and to each other. They're very bright, and generous. They might not be wealthy, but they give much, both of their time and of their resources. Sanders didn't have many financial resources, and though people mocked his "$27" line, it powered a serious challenge to a iconic politician with deep corporate backing.

(20,677 posts)I'm going to stamp my feet until I get it. They do not see the bigger picture.
Bernie Sander's correct castigation of the Democratic Party for their taking the eye off the ball, when it came to down ticket races, will take 10 years to rectify. That's just reality. And whoever was going to be nominated, and hopefully elected, WILL have to work with moderate Republicans. And that is reality too.
Millennials might be bright but they aren't aware of the real world. Not everyone agrees with them, and if they don't realise that, they'll become as bitter and twisted as any Tea Partier. Bernies idea of getting in at all levels from the School board up, is the best idea by far, but it will take time.

(71,036 posts)Sorry, I think they were Bernie groupies just like rock star groupies. They idolized the man not the movement. And that is ok. Bernie is certainly a great hero for any kid...of course,he is not Lebron James...(kidding I am from Ohio).

(28,270 posts)They have made that abundantly clear.
See JPR for proof.
They even dumped Bernie and threw him under their purist green bus.

(3,813 posts)You know, that TPP that Hillary has changed opinions on three times already (1- "gold standard," 2- "not as it is now," 3- "I'm really against it, like really" ?
When a pro-TPP speaker who also happens to be the HEAD OF THE CIA is lying, it's not treason to shout "Lies!"

(15,805 posts)to a private event like the one held by the DNC. Agitators cannot disrupt your club meeting, but they can try to crash a public setting like a government meeting. Protestors were delegates, and they agreed to the DNC rules when they got their credentials. They had one job to do -- vote for the Democratic nominee. If they were more interested in disrupting the program, they should have resigned, turned in their badges and gone outside to join the groups that had organized real protests.

Amazing, the rhetoric coming from Dems.

(15,805 posts)Its a private event hosted by the DNC. Their rules apply, and everyone agreed to abide by those condition when they got those passes.
Whether those agitators were ever Democrats is debatable.
