WhiteHouse.gov petition to deny Donald Trump national security briefings

https://wh.gov/iFRPv

GOP presidential nominee, Donald Trump, said “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.” This is calling on a foreign power to commit espionage against the United States for political gain. He cannot be trusted with state secrets and, although there is a tradition of including presidential nominees in national security briefings, President Obama has no obligation to do so. For the safety of our nation, deny Donald Trump this privilege.

It said 1 when I clicked on your link, I signed and then verified through the email, then exited the page, then clicked on it again, and it still says 1 signature.

And we KNOW it's had more than that since we posted because other people have posted on this thread saying they signed. So we'll see where it's at tomorrow morning.

You're welcome! I'm on Twitter a lot, so it's not too taxing. Literally the least I could do!

Pretty much symbolic on my part. This way other people may stumble across it and get a sense of how serious it is, and not just another "political gaff." If it resonates with one person it will have been worth the effort.

That it's an apples to apples comparison, as much of the media would have us believe.

If nothing else it increases the exposure of the outrage.

And all the more reason for our side to push back on the normalizing and legitimizing of his utterly inept candidacy.

I'm fed up with pundit after pundit countering EVERYTHING he does with some pulled thread of something out of Clinton's history that somehow makes what he does and says just more of the same ol' politics.

No. Just no.

OK, I'm letting my inner Star Trek nerd out here, but this might actually work better than the action proposed in this petition. Please, hear (read) me out:
In a TNG episode entitled "The Defector" an enemy alien was fed false information about military strategies to test his loyalty. He failed that test, spilling the "rotten" beans to the good guys, and was destroyed in the revelation.

What if the current administration included a similar red herring in a briefing to Drumpf? Something so irresistibly tantalizing to Putin that his (Putin's) ego would override Russian intelligence safeguards, and -- once revealed -- would show the solid-line between these two psychopaths?

Too far-fetched? I dunno. All the dysentery that has spewed from Drumpf has exceeded previously-held notions of what's allowed, appropriate and acceptable in presidential campaigns.

The gloves are off.

We're not going to prevail over such evil by playing it safe.
