may be trimmed, that this will be the last time anyone calling themselves an "independent" or a "Democratic socialist" will appear on the Democratic Party's primary ballot. I have a feeling that henceforth, if you're not IN the party--not caucusing with, but IN the party--you're not playing in our pool.

I also have a feeling that, where possible and where states can be pushed, we'll be saying goodbye to those disenfranchising/activist friendly caucuses. And that's a GOOD thing.

So, they should keep it up, because when the boom happens, they'll be hoisted upon their own petards.

They certainly didn't listen to their leader, did they?

a revered civil rights icon, a rising star in the Senate from NJ, and the senior senator from Massachusetts, among others.

There's protest, and there's Being A Childish, Petulant Asshole. The convention is a workspace--people who want to "protest" to the point that they are disrupting the work of the party to the point where those in attendance cannot hear the speakers can get up off their asses and go to the street to do that kind of thing.

I'm with Sarah Silverman--ridiculous is what those disruptors were being. They aren't 'democrats' with a big or small D--they are trying to PREVENT democracy by shutting down the work of a convention because their view was not carried by the majority. TFB for them.

I think Sanders should pull their credentials. He ASKED them to be polite, and they told him, basically, with their behavior, to fuck himself.

Those who were heckling Elijah Cummings and several other Dem speakers (Marcia Fudge, who wasn't having it, and told them to respect her as she would them). Also, a guy allegedly yelling @ Liz Warren when she was speaking. I believe somebody said this one guy kept yelling at her "We trusted you," or some bogus crap. Over the Tea Party or any other group committed to defeating Democrats?

I didn't see much concern for understanding others when we were being insulted day in and day out as corporate shills and camp weathervane, not real Democrats because we dared to support another candidate. They dismissed me as a vagina voter and repeatedly insulted African Americans. When Planned Parenthood endorsed Clinton, they didn't try to understand. They set about working to strip PP of funding and with it women's reproductive rights. When they insulted and attacked Civil Rights activists, I saw no sign of efforts to understand. I saw a clear determination to force others into submitting to their rule.

I will not defer to the ratfuckers working to see Trump put in office. I will not. I have more respect for the admitted conservatives because at least they are honest about what they are. This people boo Elijah Cummings because he dared to talk about civil rights. They are beneath contempt.

LOL! Not even realizing Bernie was given prime time. Poor thing, she was "forced" to sit through Booker, Warren, and 1st Lady Michelle Obama. Obviously she got nothing out of them, while the rest of us, sure did. Then she "believed" Bernie, she "trusted" Bernie, but then again, she didn't believe or trust Bernie. Huh? It seemed she knew nothing about the platform changes, either. Looked like she would have been better off just going home and going to bed.

There will be arrests if people act that way during the roll. They signed paperwork promising to be diligent supporters of the process and party loyalists.

...showed, imo, an increasingly depolarized environment. I mean in your state delegation half of your people are going to be Clinton supporters. You got to look them in the eye. So you can't keep a protest up all evening without realizing what an asshole you're being. I can't nail down where the really loud ones are coming from but they are probably states Sanders won in a landslide or where there is animosity (I wouldn't be surprised if Sanders' Nevada delegation is not on good terms).

As I said to oberliner, by the time Sanders started speaking I thought it was doing a hell of a lot better than the beginning. And I watched the whole thing. I intentionally stayed out of the spats here on DU and just waited to see what would happen. I'm glad what Sanders and the top leaders did.
