I remember the media coverage of the 2008 DN Convention

Then, like now, the media tried very hard to push a storyline of a divided party and a fractious convention. The Angry Hillary delegates, the PUMA's, Obama leads a divided party, you remember.

After the first day it seemed that the media was having some success at this, and I remember feeling somewhat depressed.

But the convention was also masterfully orchestrated, the speeches by Bill and Hillary Clinton, Biden, Melani --er--Michelle Obama, were all excellent. And Barack Obama delivered masterfully the final night at Invesco Field (thank God it didn't rain).

The "divisiveness" media meme was all but forgotten by Thursday. So, a well-run convention, good speeches, minimal disruptions outside the hall (there will always be a few arrests) and a consistent message will do what needs to be done.
