Keep in mind that the Republicans claim the Carter years were a DISASTER because Saint Ronny of the Blessed Bonzo spent EIGHT YEARS claiming the reason trickle down wasn't working was because of the hole left behind by Carter. Then Daddy Bush made the same claim for his four years.

It's considered to be "common knowledge" in the Beltway so much that anyone who says otherwise is treated like an idiot.

They've gotten so bad that they believe gas lines and inflation didn't exist until Carter.

Those of us who were there know better.

Carter put it best when he said, "We never dropped a bomb. We never fired a bullet. We never went to war."

Republicans consider that to be weak.

I just finished his autobiography, "A Full Life: Reflections at Ninety," and he's led a fascinating life. I have the audio book, read by the author himself, recommend it highly. He's always been my hero, but I learned that I agree with him even more than I knew. And he certainly has kept up on the issues. Mondale said "We told the truth, obeyed the law and kept the peace."
